Funny thing about that, on June 4 he tweeted "4 more months and, I'll be free from this misery," that misery of course being the wait for the game to come out. A week later, the story trailer was announced... with a release date of four months from June.

Seems like he is privvy to some inside info, or he made a very, very lucky and specific guess.

Yeah, the teleport one is there, but not the other guard crush move that today's winner was using to full effect with maximum damage.

Other than Groh and his dad, do we know anything about a potential third newcomer? I'm kinda hoping for a new lady, a mature and sexy one to help me forget about the SCV newcomers.
 
I did say in an earlier post some disparaging things about Project Soul's e3 performance and their PR strategy (or lack there of) by pointing out their absence on the big events, but I only meant it from the point of view of appealing to a wider audience. I don't know marketing, but I can't help but feel that something could've been done to present Soul Calibur's awesomeness outside of the context of communicating with the existing fan base (i.e. us). New blood is needed for the soul to keep burning.

That being said, I love the gameplay, the music and battlegrounds, and it was really refreshing to see new characters in action - incompetent though their wielders may have been, especially Ivy's. X(

You suggested the option to cancel an unparried RE. I like the idea. For a moment, it seemed on this tournament that someone did just that, though it could be that my eyes were playing tricks with me. It's late here.

The more orbs Zas has on the opponent the greater amount of time he has to stop time to get combos on frozen enemies.

Zas' CE is an aGI That Curse's the Opponent & is a Guard Break on Block.

From the sound of it, that's probably going to be the case.
It wouldn't be the first time a fighting game downplayed a character being gay in the western versions.

For Raphael, it's a character that I couldn't get too much info. But I never heard a "no". That's also a strange thing that might indicates an other strategy that I will take time to explain maybe in a later video when all this will be over...

Back to Raphael, it's very strange to leave him away. He is popular and he is the one who save Siegfried by his desperate attack... but maybe that's all, and so they prefered to add him in a cutscene for now? I don't know yet.

Anyway, I have done my character speculation 2 times already because everyday I got a new information and a new feeling.. but let's focus on the essential :

- They obviously want to please fan this time : reboot+story content+fan character even if it doesn't fit the timeline like Zas, Talim, Tira.
- They don't have infinite money, neither infinite time, so they make choice.
- We are in 2018, where GuestDLC, and probably DLC fanbase character can be a profitable income for them.

So...

I'am sure they made choice, and they are doing what they can with the money and the time they get. We can only blame Namco big boss to not investing more time and money.
Then they will work on Guest DLC char that can give them new player and add 100% fan garantueed fan char, like Hilde, Setsuka, Cassandra and obviously, I guess Raphael. Maybe for Season 2 I don't know.

After then... if we are loud enough, we might be able to have the rest of the cast that seems to matter to fans, if they are convinced.

If they continue working on their game, like other fighting game licence are doing these years, we still get a chance to have a good roster of SoulCalibur, but it will depends on the community by convincing them that they can earn money with some character. I don't like that personnally, but it's better than not having his favourite char, that is not enough popular.

@Vergeben have you not said a crazy number like 31 back in time ?

I hope that's my last theory about this, so I can gives you more detailed information, especially Raphael status in my char spec video, if I manage to finish it, but for now I need sleep haha.

That higher number came from a while ago. The most recent thing I heard about the roster number itself was in February, which was 22 to 24 characters like I said before. Which we're now seeing that does seem to be the case unless they do something surprising between now and launch and the one thing on the character select screen is for bonus characters, and that accounts for a higher number. But as things are, we'll probably get more than one season pass because 3 characters and one bonus (that could be an early unlock) leaves a lot to be desired.

On a closing note, I should probably say that I know who one of the boss characters in the story mode is.

I uploaded one of the songs from today's stream for you lovely people. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been posted before, apologies if I'm wrong. It's a banger, though.

If anyone has more specific information about the track, I'll update the info and make the video unlisted. My guess is that it's a theme for Nightmare, since there are organs and stuff, but I dunno. I made the picture X anyway even though it's clearly not her theme, because best girl.
