You could view SCV's dlc in game so it would've had that label too. I remember seeing that the in-game purchases thing is very light on what it counts, it's actually kind of useless for if a game has what we'd consider microtransactions, it's a bare minimum thing that happened due to the lootbox controversy I think basically as a quick patch over the issue so that the ESRB didn't have to actually do anything.

Someone tell me with a straight face Natsu #2 and #3 aren't repurposed for Groh.
And Natsu #1 screams Z.W.E.I. to me. I know that Natsu had her own demon, Arahabaki, but seeing a single sword with a familiar behind her, the comparison is too easy to make. I don't know why Natsu was trying to be Z.W.E.I., but if Grøh is inspired by Natsu #2 and Natsu #3, then he could easily also have some Natsu #1 in him, too. And what little we know of Grøh could line up with Z.W.E.I.'s backstory from New Legends of Project Soul. I dunno, it's just something to think about.

This x1000. Thanks to Vergeben we already know realtime stance/weapon switching was a mechanic that held them up that they had to scrap, which coincides with the Passion Republic art way too well. I'd love to know some insider info. I wouldn't put that 70% complete number we got during announcement to have been mainly recycled assets/programming after an alleged restart, especially given how currently stages lack in number and are much more vague in their themes.

And Natsu #1 for Kilik's Soul Charge.
Her hair style is very similar to that of Devil Kilik.
Probably the original idea was for Natsu to have this transformation.

I

It may have been that they'd planned on cutting Zwei entirely in order to give Natsu that third style. A slightly smaller roster with characters having so much variety would've been cool imo, though it's unlikely that each style had a complete moveset.

the reasons is simple
First is Krizalid, very infamous SNK BOSS WITH INFINITES(TM)

Second is Sin Kiske from Guilty GeaR, shameless borrowed from Krizalid and very popular among schoolboys

His face, voice and fighting style is very similar to GROH, except - GROH is much more sadistic

Honestly, probably not.

Groh's inspiration probably stems from this:

And the host of heroes/characters from various video games (at the time) that were wielding double-bladed weapons. Cold Steel 2, debuted in Japan nearly four years ago, but there was also Pit and Dark Pit who wield double-bladed weapons in Smash Bros. that could be utilized as both bows and shortswords, keeping in mind that Namco was aiding in the development of the game (by former Project Soul directors/producers no less).

Then there's Yuan from Tales of Symphonia, which had a recent re-release a few years back.

Unknown from Kingdomhearts Birth By Sleep secret boss.

In otherwords, the inspirations were there from more recent games, re-releases and more. So I wouldn't really say Groh is in anyway based off a KoF fighter, but rather from recent trends of certain heroes, villains and anti-heroes picking up the weapon.

Wait a little longer guys. Things that seems good can be bad, and we can still have good surprise in 4 month.

As for the frustation and complaints...

I do love Soulcalibur. I Switched to Yunsung in SC2, with pain, then to Kilik, then to ZWEI also with pain in SCV.

I can understand and I feel the same pain and anxiety again. But this serie is more close to die than anytime. I just hope their effort and choice will help SoulCalibur get up and take a footstep forward.

Btw, i'am not blaming anyone, you have to say when you are not satisfied, that's important. And we all have to evacuate that frustration someway. I just wanted to say that even with all this shit, most of us here want to keep SoulCalibur alive... at least I hope so.

And again, let's wait a couple of weeks more and have a better idea of the game.

Kingdom hearts was my thought, Groh looks a bit like a medieval Nomura character with the random belts replaced with armour

I mean even with complaints, it's not like I'm not gonna buy it. I have the CE preordered even considering the fact it lacks the Season Pass, for some reason. I bought the CE's for 4 and 5, and all the DLC, music included. There's just not much more I can do in terms of speaking with my wallet, so it's easy to nitpick.

So I went to look up the definition of reboot and remake. So in my own words reboot is basically ignoring the previous canon and rearranging it while remake is retelling the whole story with some extra new details.

So far from what I have seen concerning the storymode for this game it just feels more of a remake than a reboot. We still haven't seen characters like Talim and Tira yet which they both would be very young at this time and Zasalamel is not out of place since he is immortal so it is logical for him to be there.

Also characters like Kilik, Xianghua and Maxi are still together. I know we are still half way for the full roster to be revealed, but seeing how things are right now at this time looks more like a remake to me.
They said it themselves that the keyword is reboot.

"host of heroes/characters from various video games (at the time) that were wielding double-bladed weapons. "
Yes, Morty from DOTA for example.
Using of dual weapon is too wide a criterion
On one side coincidence in:
-face and hair (Krizalid)
-dual weapon and fighting style (Kiske use mix of piercing and dual strikes)
-voice and sadistic temper (Krizalid)
-critical art and winnig pose (Kiske)
On other side coincidence in:
--dual weapon and fighting style (Crow)
