Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I feel that now would be the right time to announce and drop a Beta/Demo on PSN for the game.
I was thinking about this earlier and a great way to "get people in the door."
Do a beta where you have access to training, battling others online, and Create-A-Soul with carryover save data. The character(s) you create in Create-A-Soul carries over to when you buy the actual game.

There's a lot of discussion on twitter whether the collector's edition includes a season pass

It's going to be disappointing if it doesn't. Apparently, the season pass is confirmed for the European collector's edition.

You can get a figpin if you preorder at gamestop

I'm having an epiphany now... :O
What if the Rock everyone had been encountering before scV was... A ghost?

... A ghost of a man who was captured, mutilated and eventually killed by Ares' cult to make Astaroth. After all the agony and torture that was used to fuel Astaroth's undying rage, all that remained were pure, good emotions and the desire to return to his own son - who occupied his final vestiges of hope - Bangoo. Of course, we will never see them reunited, for Rock never really left Kumpaetku shrine.

... As far as I am concerned, I've solved Rock. :D

I've always been rooting for Astarock. I imagined something quite similar, and tbh this is the perfect solution. Rock's included for nostalgia's sake without being a separate character, and Astaroth technically stays the same as he's always been.

To me, Astaroth's always been this mindless, bloodthirsty fiend with no moral compass, but can you imagine his past as Rock occasionally slipping between the cracks? It would add so much depth to his character.

I'd kill for a beta with training mode.

I was watching the last video of Maximilian Dood , and I was thinking: is it just me or does Yoshimitsu without helmet/mask look like Ultron from Marvel Comics? Lol

That's still a badass looking by the way
Yoshi is my main and I really can't wait to put my hands on him and try every single move, most of the people I see in the videos don't do quite much combos or stances that I personally use a lot and wanna see how much of that messy-mechanical-demon ninja has changed so far

I kept waking up last night to read the news to see if a Talim trailer had dropped.

Of course it didn't, but I had a dream about her where she had a Soul Caliber 3 inspired clothing style with her hair closer to sc2 but prettier of course. She had a 2p outfit that was like her sc2 red and pink outfit with white bow.

I got to play a few battles with her in my dream, vs Raohael, Volvo and Tira. :)

Then went into the character customization mode and it had a crazy feature I know we will never see. It had hair presets but also hair accessories and the ability to choose length, multiple secondary colors and more precise details in hair styling.

Unfortunately I woke up. ::Sigh::

Ironically I bought one of the Witcher novels. Kind of makes me hope we get an ASOIAF/Game of Thrones character as DLC but nobody's really moveset worthy.

And with how Tekken had other, fighting game characters I kind of hoped for either Hayabusa or Scorpion as the guest.

And if the two moveset thing was true, maybe that may be a factor in CaS styles?

The Dampierre is not the most popular hero, but you're not his only fan. in this conversation I saw few other people demanding his return.
But the return of the Revenant seems to want only me. Very sad :(

Oh I was actually mocking the people arguing about how their opinion over missing characters is more right than other people's because they like their character more, and how dumb that whole shit was. But thanks man for the reassurance :)

And dude I'd take Revenant > Dampierre tbh. Damp is a fun meme but I wouldn't be torn if he wasn't included. Revenant with his own fun style would be a great addition imo :D

@Vergeben I'd actually lose myself to the CaS beta demo thing like the filthy pseudo-casual I am.

Okay probably doesn't mean anything and may have been done already, but let's compare:

I decided to just put the names in a spreadsheet...

Anyone could be someone new though... Some look a letter off.

If anything Verge, without counting the three extra slots/two bottom slots, just put down how many I got wrong when you get your info.

I'm surprised people are still holding out hope that the Collector's Edition contains the season pass.

People always have big ideas for betas. If it's a beta, I think it would be solely online. If it's a demo, CaS idea would be cool along with a tutorial. I would expect September if they did release either.

I got a figpin for preordering tekken 7 from gamestop. It was heihachi. I ended up tossing it in the trash.
----
As an aside. physical copies dont tend to come with season passes anymore. Due to the prices of physical copes being subject to price drops and clearance. Tekken 7 season pass has yet to go on sale in steam

You're not alone! I'd like to see Revenant come back, too!
I would like to see every character that was in soul calibur to come back like super smash bros ultimate. I to wish there was a demo, lol I remember sc2 demo in game stop when I was on vacation when I was younger. It what got me into SC then came sc3 demo which me and my dad was searching for in the magazine. I played the hell outta that demo.
