Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Thanks for video! But... What about Inferno!? Why you put it out of the roster? Because he's a Boss Mimic? They can give him a unique moveset, similar to necrids concept, but way better! And, about Talim... I really like her, but i think, they put her as a DLC character (maybe as a PreOrder bonus), as Tira and Cassy. Why? Because their influence on the general plot of the first SoulCalibur is negligible, and the plot of SCII, apparently, will be mentioned only partially in the new game.

BTW, You forget about CaS Slot
No way they’re cutting them out. They already confirmed II and III characters in the game.

Here is my last unrevealed character video, bt analyzining Soulcalibur Series Timeline and the new VS Character Select Screen.

I hope you will enjoy. If so, don't hesitate to give me a thumb up!

Good video, but I disagree.

Talim would be the blurred spot above Zasalamel in the story. That's the only place she can fit without the team having to make a child model for her during certain scenes and still letting her have a fight.

Likewise, either below or above Yoshimitsu is where Hwang would be, or Voldo. Can't really say which.

Seong-mina is near the top along with Lizardman below Ivy.

Cervantes "probably" wouldn't fit into the story mode. He is undoubtedly going to be in the game, but not likely to be in the story mode.

As for your character select screen. I disagree where Talim would be placed. She's be in the center bottom, right below Geralt. She won't have any rivalry this time around and will pretty much be a neutral. Between Talim would be the next new character and Cervantes. Far left would be the CAS slot. At the top, next to Siegfried will be Rock and across, next to Nightmare will be Lizardman as he fits with the whole villains cluster there.

Voldo and Astaroth I do agree with, but for Taki and Mitsurugi's neighbors, I'm pretty sure it'll be Hwang and Seong-mina. Mina probably would be on Taki's side.

And that's everything.

Again, I strongly disagree we'll see any more SC2/3/4/5 characters on the base roster, but for DLC, anything goes.

I would have much preferred it if you did a similar video to the Kilik breakdown, but for another character. Speculation is just that... speculation. No benefit or gain from watching your latest video.

I've been playing SCV again since VI was announced and there's a few things regarding the AI and characters that I'm wondering about and hoped some of you lucky few who got a chance to play at one of the events could tell me:

1) PLEASE tell me Taki isn't as cheap and overpowered as Natsu. Natsu's AI is a beast and her 6,6+B is literally a quarter of your health which is the most retarded thing in SCV to me (and that's saying a lot...)

2) Is Nightmare as cheap as he is as the Arcade Boss in SCV? And does the Rockstar combo still do nearly a third of your health?

3) Have you noticed if the AI reads your button inputs as cheatingly as they do in SCV? As in, do they stand still doing nothing until you let go of guard and then hit you immediately before your character even stops animating the block completely, and other similar non-humanly possible (outside of a player staring at your thumb) things?

These are the top things that come to mind as potential concerns and the reasons I've rage quit many past SC games. I don't like feeling like the odds are stacked against me just 'cause my opponent is a machine.

I will say that SC is probably the only series to get difficulty right though. Their story modes ARE completable (for the most part) and if you pick 'Easy' it actually WILL feel easy for the most part, unlike games like Mortal Kombat where you can choose 'Beginner' and get your ass handed to you instantly.

The weirdest thing I noticed in SCV is, and maybe it's just me, but sometimes it's like regardless of your difficulty setting the AI just decides "nope, you're not winning this one" and goes absolutely gorrila fucking crazy (Nightmare is especially known to do this where he literally won't let you off the ground and reads you like a supercomputer even on Easy).

I legit just rage quit SCV 'cause of Natsu doing the above (plus that ridiculous 6,6,+B). I'm super hype for SCVI but if this kinda shit is still present then it's gonna leave a REALLY bad taste in my mouth...

Hopefully we get Tira or Talim or something on Thursday so people stop being dumb and insisting we'll see Rock and Hwang over newer unique and actually popular characters. We already have a completely new character and a character from SCIII in the story mode people (and a guest even), they're clearly not just retelling SE and SC1. If they want newer characters to be part of the story then we'll see them be part of the story.

I feel your pain, the difficulty on higher difficulties is stupid. For me it's always astaroth, and ivy because their command throws are really strong and they literally pull them out of nowhere. Nightmare is really bad as well.

I planned to release on BreakDown for characters but last week I got the invitation for tomorow, so I want to wait and make test before posting the next breakdown ! Don't worry, I'am working on all the characters at the same time with several french players, I hope to release some next weeks, I have a lot of more free time now until the release of the game :P

Is there any reason to believe that the koreans will be in or will people who like them be looking like Lei Wulong fans? Aren't Tekken people working on this game too , I mean like the director ? After the whole "popularity thing" with Tekken 7 , is it unreasonable to expect them not to be in Soul Calibur VI?

I'd be surprise if none of the 3 Koreans, like at least 1-2 of them won't make it.

Looking very forward for your thoughts on the game... and Kilik :)

Mina and Yun are decently popular characters, about the lower middle of the pre-V cast I think (Hwang being a lot lower but still above the SCV replacements and such) but Mina's a semi clone of someone already confirmed and I don't remember people making all that much of a fuss about Yun's style being missing in SCV compared to Talim and Zas. None of the three are very important characters either but I suppose they could change that with the rebooted story.

I don't think it's unrealistic to expect none of them, they did have no Koreans in SCV after all, not even bothering with a Korean kid replacement. I can see them being very low priority characters aside from maybe including Yun or Hwang purely for the sake of having a Korean rep in the game.

Not to mention all 3 are just plain normal people with normal weapons and SCVI seems to be going for the flashy whenever possible.

Hwang beat Yun in both Eventhub polls. Honestly it's questionable to say either male Korean is "decently popular."

Ynn came ahead of Mina on the official poll (by 4 votes but still). That was probably boosted by his style not being in SCV but I'd still put an official poll from facebook above a site aimed primarily at the tournament crowd, casual fans matter a huge amount despite what some people think.

I don't think we'll see
- Algol (nobody likes Algol)
- Li Long (no point with Maxi in)
- Rock (Asta's in and among the semi-clones Rock's by far the least popular)
- the SCV new cast of course (except Viola and possibly ZWEI as dlc)
and I really hope we don't see any of the stupid mimics on the roster except maybe Inferno being unlocked in the middle slot, so as to not take a shown space

Actual casual fans aren't going to care enough to respond to a poll three years after the last game came out. They played the game, had fun, and forgot about it.
