Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

We ARE getting a “preorder char” along the same business model as Eliza for Tekken 7.

We know this via the DLC release schedule we saw around the time of the story trailer/release date info.

4 DLC chars, 2 customization packs

I think it was:
DLC char 1 (bonus char at release)
Customization Pack 1
DLC char 2
DLC char 3
Customization Pack 2
DLC char 4

The first DLC is a bonus character that will be available on release day. This char will probably be locked out from straight up purchase for about a month and then people who did not preorder will be able to pay for this char. This is how they handled Eliza in T7.

This is totally random, but does anyone remember from SC2 there was some kind of weapon museum mode, where you could look at a 3D model of all the weapons for each character, and you could read a little description/history of each weapon?

I don't remember seeing that feature in more recent titles. Does anyone want it back? I would, personally, because I think it helped provide context for the existence of some weapons, almost giving them a backstory of their own, and putting attention on the weapons themselves (since it is a weapons fighter, after all :D).

Also the voice sets and characters profile.

To be honest, I really miss for EXTRA MODEs from SCI... In SCIII Extra was great, But in SCI there is alot of Awesome and beautiful pics...
I really wish to something like this in SCVI... + Like Tekken 7

Agreed! I wish we could have ALL of these things back! Here's to hoping they have the budget to pull it off! *crosses fingers*

You hear that, Namco?! We need some EXTRAS! And not just "Some"! A lot of EXTRAS! All types of EXTRAS from previous SCs fused into one ultimate EXTRA Museum! + Like Tekken 7! And with Arcade versions of previous games, like in Tekken 5

Talking about Museums, does anybody know where I can find the story tree with all the relationships between the characters and their motivations? There was something like that in SCIV but i can't find it anywhere

I think they took out the 'looking at weapons' thing because we haven't had weapon select on the character select screen in ages. I will never understand why they removed that and locked weapon selection to character creation slots instead (which is a total waste).

Looks like SCVI will be no different though :( although I guess they could still put it in. It's not like the other weapons have been seen yet so maybe when they're added they could add weapon select to the character select screen.

Btw, is it confirmed that we are getting only ONE character per DLC? I mean, we're getting 100+ CaS pieces, nothing would prevent the character packs from having more than one character...

Even though Tekken 7 wasn't packed with content I like that I could use almost all the music from any game and watch almost all the movies from any game.
You could get DLC music packs that contained tracks from previous games I think but nothing like what Tekken 7 has. I REALLY hope they do that with SCVI. I'd love to be able to just shuffle through the entire stage of history's soundtrack.

I think I remember Okubo saying in one of the interviews the game takes place after the events of SC1 all the way to SC2.

@Hayate if you haven't met with Namco yet, can you please ask them to some sort of model viewer like that of Guilty Gear XXRD. Picture mode like Horizon: Zero Dawn are also very popular with casuals. Or God of War photomode.

The music talk got me thinking. How moddable do you think the steam version would be? Modding music sometimes is as easy as switching some files around so, how easy was it in T7?

The story takes place from before even the original Soul Edge/Blade up to just before SC2 starts judging from the story timeline we've seen (the first year marked is 1583 and Soul Edge takes place 1584). It could potentially go later too if the timeline extends but for now it seems to go from 1583 to 1590.

Yes it is, obviously.

Also T7 gave you 2 characters and a shitty game mode for $25. Do you really think they're gonna give more than 4* characters for $40?

It's almost guaranteed to use Denuvo like T7 did, so modding will be near impossible again. Only very recently have modders learned how to import textures into T7, but still nothing on models and music.

Why not? Just because Tekken did it doesn't mean every Bamco game has to.
