Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I don't think it's hinting at anyone. IIRC in the original story the "stranger with a shard of Soul Edge" is just some random person who found it. By the time Yun-Seong had met Talim she already knew about Soul Edge from seeing this shard and told him it was dangerous to search for it.
Right I don't think Yun-Seong will be making a story appearance unless he has the same type of appearance that Rothion does.

One cannot be unimportant when he/she holds a shard. Either its a playable character or someone that will get killed by a playable character and have the shard taken.

Talim's SoulCalibur II backstory said:
Years later, when Talim was fifteen years old, a man from the west brought a strange metal fragment to her homeland, claiming it to be a "vitality charm". Talim, however, recognized the evil energy as the same force that had caused her to blackout years before, and resolved to return the metallic shard to where it belonged; wherever that was. Despite the elders' misgivings, Talim departed on a journey; concluding that when she delivered the demonic power to its rightful place, that peace would eventually be restored to the Earth.
Could this be the next character to be revealed?? I can just hear the announcer:

ZASALAMEL
VERSUS
VITALITY CHARM-SELLING WESTERNER

But for real, though, guys. This is literally the same backstory she had in SC2.

"She spent her entire life on the island, until the day a stranger arrived in Talim’s town carrying a shard of Soul Edge itself. Talim could sense the danger of it just from this small shard and vowed to protect the world by returning it to where it belongs, even if this meant leaving her village and family behind."

Cassandra? She had a Soul Edge shard with her in the SC2 intro

This literally confirms where she's going to be put in the Story Mode.

Right above Zasalamel. She's not going to figure into the greater SC1 story.

And FYI folks, that blurb on her bio, is the EXACT same as it was in SC2 when she was introduced. The stranger who brought the shard to the village is just a nameless mook. Don't start throwing random theories about who it could be.

It would be nice to get a name for the random salesman though, maybe in a vs CAS character battle like Sophie vs Rothion will presumably be.

I really don't like her art. All the others look like people but Talim looks like an Adventure Time character with those eyes and that mouth.

I do have qualms about the eyes, they seem a bit too far apart. Something like this would've been perfect:

And the full art if people want it:

What, did you think they were granted shards of Soul Edge as some kind of warrior ceremony? Soul Edge shards went all over the place after SC1 and lots of people got them, not just playable characters. This shard is technically Talim's, from a story standpoint. Not some other character's. She's just not the one carrying it around and getting people mad sick.

I was kinda hoping Talim would get a really unique look but they played it safe with updating her classic look which is cool. Also is it me or are her proportions just a bit larger than the rest of the cast. Just compare her to Xianghua, her head, arms, legs all look bigger and really uncanny, it's like she should have been a few inches shorter but that probably screwed with the hit spheres so they just enlarged everything about her.

I wanna say they made that stylistic choice to play off her "childish" look, as opposed to how she looked in previous games where she was pretty much the same model as the other female characters but with shorter limbs and a drastically reduced bust size.

I really like her new look but it just...irks me a little bit how there are some artistic choices in there that are obviously driven by fanservice goggles, like how she has underboob going on and the side cuts on her shorts (?????).

So her look is like her SC4 (not SC3 like i said earlier lol) design with some changes. Nice.

Man i was watching some SC3 screens and footages and hope Setsuka will make into this game.
