Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I think I have the solution to all this arguing about 2b.
Let's put the real waifu of Nier, the original, sexy and full of fan service, Kaine.

I really love Nier:Automata, but I feel 2b was a little disappointing in terms of emotional depth. So I can't feel related to her personality or motivations. On the other hand Kaine is full of character and his sense of humor is really refreshing. On top of all this we have his beautiful outfit, (maybe a little bit revealing ;D) and his very dirty mouth is totally fitting with Geralt.
Only if the bulge is modeled in.

My point still stands lol.

I hope the Evo build will contain Talim and maybe the one or two characters revealed before the event or at the event.
I doubt they're going to show off at EVO with anything less than what's already been revealed, hell I'd be shocked if they didn't reveal someone else there too to have them playable.

As for the guest character stuff, they're going to pick someone that sells more games. If it happens to make thematic sense, yay, if not, they're still going to do it. As far as that goes, 2B is certainly a popular character and she wouldn't be the worst in the world given she actually uses a sword. Plot will just deal, it's not like there's many people buying the game for that.

In conjunction with the information that the Aval Organization cultivates and fosters all types of diverse fighting styles and the leak that Grøh’s dad will be a new character, I can’t help but think that he might end up being the mimic character, or at least some variant of the mimic. However, this would contradict what Okubo has said in one of his interviews that the next new character has an entirely unique fighting style.

I don't think this has been discussed yet, so what do people think of this Astaroth design?

SC6 Astaroth preview.PNG

This is from the background of a story scene (taken from this post). The axe makes it very likely this is Astaroth, and most of the art has matched the characters' SC6 designs, so...

It doesn't look very far-removed from what we'd expect from Astaroth. He's not going to be a lava monster or a robot, which I like. His boots make it look like he has three toes, which is a bit strange.

The most striking thing about this design is how much stuff he has on his back. At least, that's what it looks like to me. In the past, there's been stuff growing out of his back, but never anything quite this large. Could it be armor? The overall impression I get from the large back and the three toes is that this is Astar-turtle. Turtle-roth? I don't know, the name needs work.

Bowser-roth. The second guest character is actually Bowser, in conjunction with the Switch release. /s

We probably have about six more reveals, maybe seven if they decide to cover the last newcomer. There's still plenty of Thursdays between now and October, so just be patient and try not to hype yourselves up for certain characters appearing.

I don't know, I preferred him with a more... barbaric, minimalist design, like in SCI and II. Just a sinister, fuckhuge golem with crazy eyes whose clothes were the least memorable part of his design. He didn't need tons of heavy armour or whatever, part of the appeal to me is that he was an engine of destruction who left most of himself exposed; when you look like that, well, your axe is really all you need when you leave for work in the mornings. I also preferred the understated Bane mask to the increasingly silly headpieces they keep giving him.

His original colour scheme was the best too IMO. I hope they go back to it. The more I type this the nitpickier it seems, but eh, the guy had a straightforward-yet-menacing design in I and II and I don't think the additions they've made to it in the sequels (brighter skin colours, more armour, etc.) ever really improved it. Very interested to see him in action, but the gigantic helmet and super heavy pauldrons already tell me they might be overdesigning him a bit.

Lol...I'm not sure about the sunk in turtle head thing going on there. ..that's something I don't like already from the story trailer pic. Hopefully all of our favorite characters will have multiple costumes.

So apparently Soulcalibur's twitter account "liked" a Dark Souls tweet earlier this morning. It was an image collection of Anor Londo. Seems they occasionally post images like this especially now to promote Dark Souls Remastered.

Ornstein is the boss of that stage. He's a heavy spear wielder with lightning and dash attacks. I dont think anyone else from that game would fit as a guest character.

If Namco is at comic con next Thursday we might get something. Evo is like 2 weeks after comic con. Then there's games con and tgs so yeah many events are coming quick. October will be here quick and we'll be old quick as well.

Nameless King and Artorias are the first that come off the top.

Nameless king maybe but i would lean more to Ornstein in the choice among them since both himself and his weapon are available in all three games. So i'd say he is a bit more popular in that sense. Plus Nameless King looks a lot like Algol to me.

If we didn't already have two greatswords then yes Artorias would be just as likely but i don't think they'll put in a third.
