Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

It was a timeskip. An extremely poorly written and executed timeskip, but a timeskip all the same. Not understanding where "soft reboot" comes from.
But anyway isn't that off topic? This is SC general lol
You know what would really get my gears goin? A dual Tira/Raphael trailer. SC2/3 newcomers in one, would blow my socks off.

Agreed! I was surprised at how little reaction I had to the Voldo trailer and I think it's partly because he was kind of a given and Verge had already confirmed him to be in. I imagine a similar reaction once they reveal Astaroth and Cervantes since they're all but confirmed/guaranteed too. Sadly I imagine they will also be the next characters to come :(

I need them to drop someone that's on shaky grounds or just unexpected in general. I would've prefered that over Voldo since we haven't had a 'surprise' character since Zasalamel back in like February.

Raph + Tira would be amazing.

I also love the idea someone had for Tira's SC being a new 'Sadistic' personality. If voice acting is done right and her moves for that looking MK styles of brutal that would be amazing.

I really hope they drop more than one character at Evo, and that they don't just drop Asta, Cervy and Lizard 'cause they already sorta soft confirmed them in some form. I want at least one surprise character.

Still no news on Groh Papi yet either. I'm suprised they haven't shown off another new character yet.

Soulcalibur VI is the Mortal Kombat 2011/Mortal Kombat X of the Soul series. They're going back to previous entries, changing and adding things, essentially making Soulcalibur VI a new timeline/new universe just like MK.

You have Soul Blade - Soulcalibur V as one canon. And Soulcalibur VI the start of a new one.

It's a reboot, it can still have 6 at the end, it's been said in MULTIPLE interviews that it's a reboot (and yes, I'm acknowledging that interview were he says HE DOESN'T KNOW if reboot is the correct term to use) at the end of the day, call it what you want but it's a separate canon/timeline from the previous entries in the series.

Man mk went back in time with Raiden sending his memory back to change what happen. SC is just revisiting the past with new stories without anyone going back in time. They adding new stories that wasnt told which means the story stays the same while mk isn't the same. Theres a big difference.
 
During the IGN interview and when talking about Talim being included to SC6, the Namco representative mentioned Talim being number one in various character polls they've done on social media. I only remember the big character poll they did on Facebook a few years ago (did they do anymore?), but it sounded like he was implying that poll did affect the roster of this game.

The big question is: Would it be possible for us to create a time machine so we can manipulate the poll results to make Cassandra #1?
 
I still think is funny how deperate Talim players were and how many of them tagged people who didn't even play the game just to get her to win.

PS: She still looks like trash tier.

Someone already did that, but for Talim. So, in the real reality, Cassandra was first. The timeline now is broken forever =(.
 
Still only care about Raph and Cass at this point... Funny thought. Do you guys think the purple on Ivy's attacks could be colorable? I just had this idea of remaking a certain greenhaired asshole

I don't think you need to worry about Cassandra...she'll either be in the base game or as one of the DLC characters. She was #12 on the character poll and was one of the most criticized (in addition to lack of zas and talim) characters to not be in V.

In fact that was done at least two times. 1rst people vote so Cassandra could win but then someone manipulated it for Talim to win which stayed as the most popular character till now.


Truth is Amy was the first one on that poll, originally even before Cassandra and Talim. Unfortunately only few people know that.




I hope Okubo is pretending to add Raphael to launch roster, then Amy as DLC / Unlockable or Bonus character next to Cassandra, Hilde and Setsuka.
