Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

As long as the Heart Attack stays out. Her style is more masculine than Sophitia to me I think. Lizzy if he has the sword like in that art would still be too animalistic, especially if he kept the bootleg Kratos moves.

I’m thinking if Cervantes doesn’t show up, he might be a top corner along with Papa Groh/Odr/whoever.

And there’s still Inferno to worry about. Playable boss, mimic, Nightmare or Cervantes clone?

As long as we get something this Sunday, I'm sure
most people would be satisfied, at least a little bit,
you know, for a few days or so. Maybe a week. :sc2rap1:

Also I am in the boat and have been for awhile of expecting at minimum a total of 3 character reveals at Evo. It's what has made the wait and the no reveal weeks tolerable for me. If we don't get at least that this weekend I'm going full casual and screaming my head off.
There’s a high probability that your sanity would be lost in the process if you were to go THAT far should such a thing never occur at EVO.

Why would they reveal a DLC character so early?
Oooo shots fired. :p

In all seriousness though, i think they are trolling us hard with that character select screen "border line". In other words i think the end character roster will include all the existing favorites that have been available in previous games, without being DLC. The DLC will be additional guests, mimics or bonus characters of sorts. Not SC regulars like Cass, Aeon or even Rock.

I don’t even know what Astaroth is made of. I don’t think the first one’s a Frankenstein monster either.

But Rock, Mi-Na, Li-Long, and Hwang are unfortunately generic compared to the others but so are Mitsurugi and Taki, but they’re Japanese so they’re safe.

Sophitia and Cassandra have the same motif even if the latter came in II and seem like amazon-paladins.

Siegfried and Nightmare are the same most of the time.

Cervantes is an undead pirate.

Voldo... I have no explanation.

Here is the post VSFighter podcast, featuring myself, Silent Joel, HolyCarp and Hyrul. Its my first time directing something like this, and didn't plan it time wise all that much so it is a 2hr40min long one. Because of how long it is I have took the time to timestamp it, if you are unavailable to sit through it all.
Something to hold you guys over till Evo starts lol
0:56 - GI/RE
31:49 - Sophitia (HolyCarp)
44:19 - Siegfried (Silent Joel)
1:03:34 - Xianghua (Hyrul)
1:19:55 - Zasalamel (Andyroo)
1:50:10 - Ivy (HolyCarp)
2:06:37 - bits and bobs from other characters.(all)
2:29:00 - random final thoughts
Is this still up? Link isn’t working for me

Dang, did they leak that Cass was DLC? Or is this just the usual shit talk? Imma take it as the 2nd and assume Project Soul isnt gonna leave one of the most popular and OG characters for DLC.

Let me get up outta here before people start sayin Rock is gonna make it again.

Regarding CaS, I think that people are hyped because sc5's creation system has given us an enormous range of options (for a fighting game), which, when combined with Soul Calibur's inherent awesomeness, actually made the game more interesting and extended its life for a significant number of users. Flash-forward to today, people are interested to see how Project Soul can up this aspect of Soul Calibur, especially after seeing over the years how character creation in games like Fallout 4 and Saint's Row was awesome. Also, I believe it is perceived that it would be illogical for Bamco not to pursue further evolution of the CaS mode.

This is why people are eager to see news about this mode. Personally, I think expectations are set a little too high, and I would be quite happy if we get the same system from scV. We certainly shouldn't expect anything about this from a high-profile event dedicated to pro players, but Gamescom perhaps...

CaS in SCV was way better than IV on certain points but worse on others. Hopefully they'll a the least take the best of both worlds and further improve the system! They have a lot of games to draw inspiration from, and hopefully they will!

Today is finally EVO!!!!

Heck I still pop in 5 and occasionally 4 just to make a character. 5 if it's anything other than human or needs the advanced customization of 5, and 4 if I'm doing a straight human with one of the many styles 5 doesn't offer and I want the cutest hairstyle which is the updo with the perfect face framing bangs of adorableness. In fact was CaSing just three days ago. My girfriend and I were fighting Taksha vs. Taksha my hobgoblin kensei from D&D with the arifact that makes her go golden (which we joked makes her super sayan) and her without the artifact. So yeah CaS adds tons of replayability, and am looking forward to what I expect and hope to be improvements. Though they better bring back my damn updo from 4 or I'm gonna scream, would pay 10 dollars for just that hairstyle as DLC.
