Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Lmao I jumped during that Tekken reveal.

Astaroth looks so good! Like he was carved out of Rock, has the whole cult throne on his back. He almost universally has terrible costumes IMO, really like this look. And I like a smarter Hulk version. Now he's more menacing to me, able of sentient thought. Like The Mountain in GoT. His SC looks oppressive.

Mi-na is real cool for being kind of out of left field, hope to learn more about her soon. Didn't really get a good feel from the trailer, she looks good though. Don't really associate pink her but maybe that's a sign of a story change?

Now really worried for Raph lol someone popular is definitely getting left out unless that hint about the character select screen meant some other kind of adjustment too.
 
Now that I have a keyboard, my updated final 7 predictions for fun:

Final List-

1) cervantes
2) yung/hwang
3) Raph
4) Lizard man
5) Groh father.

This leaves 2 spots if there's 7 left (Not sure that's right, might be 6) and if there's no mimic (hoping that's the case.).

1.) Cass- Was in sc2 and every game since. Popular. Clone though and more clone than some. Punish based quite like her sister and not obvious at a glance (casual probably isn't going to be super aware of the differences vs siege and nighty who are instantly visually distinct and also play with a different rhythm/feel).

2.) Tria- Supposedly there's some rumor she's in? I normally don't buy those, but she's an ok pick if so. Age is an issue, but they can retcon/bullshit that however they want. She's a popular character with a totally unique moveset.

3.) Hilde/Sets- no rumors about them but they're the other unique/popular styles that are pretty iconic at this point. If we don't get them now I'm sure anyone above this point is DLC, and would guess Tira/Sets/Hilde as part of the first DLC.

And that's it in my eyes. They've never really cared about rock and seem to have given some of his moves/style to Asta finally to make one well rounded grappler rather than 1 ok one and one trash one focusing on oki grappling. I think Amy is DLC at best as she's not nearly as important to the casual/general community as she is to her little fanbase. The only exception to that is if they go the viola route because then she justifies a totally new style rather than being a lot like cass where she's a clone who looks like she plays a lot like her source.

I believe Raph players shouldn't be sweating anymore. I think he'll make the base roster.
 
So... Game of Thrones in SCVI then?

I kid, I imagine TWD in Tekken came from addition talks with Image Comics after Namco got Spawn to return in SCII HD.

But still, if SCVI does get a DLC guest there's pretty much nothing ruled out now.
 
Now that Negan is in Tekken that won't be too crazy to expect or hope for a Game Of Thrones Character, the timing will be also tie since by the time next GOT season start SC6 will be out about 6-8 months. My GOT pick would be the Loyal Jon Snow.
 
You guys are forgetting that T7 has almost 3M units sold while SCVI will be lucky to hit 2M. It needs to be massively successful to get a TV guest.

I still don't understand those stupid sleeves. If you wanted to give her a stripper look then at least commit to it and don't give her sleeves that fuck up her color balance and visual unity. Simple gloves or gauntlets would've done more than enough.

He's not only making Rock's fighting style obsolete, he's stealing his fashion style as well! Rock just seems very unlikely an inclusion. And we can't forget the Lizardman, he's teased just as well as Cervantes.

This is completely untrue; if Geralt, of all the characters in the game, and in the series of SC1, if GERALT has a story mode, then obviously, Seong Mi-Na will have one too.

I doubt it. He's unlikely to be on the base roster, but could easily fit in as DLC. Same with Tira.
 
Jon Snow or Jaime Lannister make a lot of sense. Arguably Arya Stark but she'd steal Raph's place since her fighting style would be a blend of his and Xianghua's.

And I was really hoping for Negan to be in Mortal Kombat instead.

Meh spade a spade. I don't get the overdefensive attitude towards it. If you're picking a roster for a game you're looking at if casuals are going to buy, not hardcores, because they're buying anyways, and to a casual she's probably the most similar looking character in the cast.

@Eji1700 Tira's Age isn't a problem. It'll just be her Bird of Passage years instead of her servant to Soul Edge years.

@Windstar You misunderstand. I know Seong Mi-na should very well have story relevance. I'm saying that she doesn't have a line in the screenshot with the timelines with blurred names that makes sense. They will add more lines is my real opinion on the matter. She will be two lines under Grøh, under Hwang.
