Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

The Tekken reveal of Negan makes me more convinced that there is going to be an anime guest character for DLC in SoulCalibur.

She wouldn't have came back in SC3 if only the "hardcores" opinion counted. People liked her and wanted her back simple as that.
 
Geralt is kind of suiting.

I can sort of justify Noctis by virtue of Ehrgeiz having Tekken rejects fight FFVII characters. Then again, Akuma, Geese, and Noctis aren't the first guests, instead it was some miniature dinosaur who did not fit at all.

But I think the bottom slots will likely end up having customs, Talim, Mi-Na, and one of the Korean swordsmen. Not going to jynx it hoping for Hwang but as welcome as a cutlass would be without Xianghua's girly stuff, Yun-seong annoys me.

Really don't want 2B to be another guest. ...Honestly I prefer Kaine or Zero.

I doubt it. He's unlikely to be on the base roster, but could easily fit in as DLC. Same with Tira.

Tira is going to be in the base roster because she was hinted months ago by Vergeben & Hayate before SCVI was officially announced.
 
Verge hinted Mi-Na wasn't. She probably made it due to her absence from V as well as getting in Lost Swords over Kilik.

So does the Amy news look bad? Maybe Raph has a better chance now.

According to Gamefaqs logic it is to make SCVI more fanservicy while DOA6 looks pale to comparison (for now) so that SCVI can make a lot of sales, because people are so into the fanservice. However, after it is released the makers of DOA6 will reconsider their earlier stance and bring back the fanservice in full force.

Win-Win situation for two game companies.

Not sure if smart or stupid. All I know is can DOA6 fans stop having SCVI as a dann measuring stick?!

@Windstar You misunderstand. I know Seong Mi-na should very well have story relevance. I'm saying that she doesn't have a line in the screenshot with the timelines with blurred names that makes sense. They will add more lines is my real opinion on the matter. She will be two lines under Grøh, under Hwang.

She fits exactly where you’d expect her to fit. And her timeline plot points also match up thus far with what you’d expect given her timeline in SE and SC. She’s caught by Hwang, goes home, runs away meets and is challenged by Ivy and loses and then spends a year training with Kongo,

Jokes aside I really don't want a GOT character in Soul Calibur, I'd rather have a feudal Shredder who's searching for Soul Edge to defeat his rivals, the Turtle Clan. Not only is he a better fit but he's a fist character which we do not have at the moment.

The dude from The Walking Dead made into Tekken 7, so who knows?

On regards of the 6 last characters

1-Cervantes on lock
2-Tira on lock
3-I chose to trust Vergeben- Groh's dad

Wishful thinking says the last 3

1-Hwag/Yun
2-Setsuka
3-Cassandra (Lizardman is a story mode character or the bonus character)

That's what I was referring to when I said "wtf harada" lol. I don't have a positive/negative stance on this whole thing since I don't play Tekken, but it's still a really bizarre choice IMO.

But I mean, it could be worse. Could be Star Wars guests. Kappa
 
Each new reveal has me worried about my boi Aeon. That said, Seong Mina deviates from the leaks which had me even more worried. Hoping for the best, but back to the waiting game...

Clones of any level (be pallet swaps or just similar asethtics) are always a popular choice because it's less dev time. Coming up with unique animations takes time, cribbing notes from an existing character is attractive from a business standpoint. Like anything else there's always a tradeoff.

Once someone is in they're a lot more likely to return just in part because a lot of the base work is done. You don't often get to just copy paste stuff due to engine changes and the like, but at least you already know what the movelist is going to look like, how most of the moves will animate, what their gameplan will be, etc. You're only going to drop them if they're unpopular and difficult to put in for some reason
 
I'm thinking we're not getting any more characters for this month since Okubu showed us two. They'll do either CAS or the other single player mode for Gamescon most likely instead.

The game is out in 2 months and they have 6 characters to reveal still, the two weeks per character reveal seems to be still on logically.
 
My guess is that we have three more sets of reveals.

Cervantes and Papa Groh seem like boss tier characters and will likely be the last ones shown.

But please let them be CaS’d. My OC protagonist is a dual wielded and his nemesis is a rapier wielder.
 
Too bad for Tekken that Walking Dead is more on the downswing now, but these guests takes so much pre-coordination, probably no way of them knowing. Honestly wouldn't be a surprise if AMC came to them to request him in lol. Hope he plays fun at least.

At least for my tastes, I have no doubt I will be more hyped for the SCVI guest. Hope this game sells really well, it deserves it.
