Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

there's also
bartlow from tales of zestiria
(probably the closest I was able to find to the mage voice that could give credence to him being the voice actor for the mage).
I time stamped it.

If anyone wants to make comparisons, I time stamped where he first starts talking. He speaks again at 1:25 in

Listening to the Libra of the Soul trailer again I realize that Groh says this line "Because I despise you". I'm pretty sure this gives legitimacy to that character being his father. He wouldn't just despise a random person which means he knows whoever he is talking to. As far as we know he doesn't really have a personal connection with any of the main cast enough for him to despise anyone. It also starts out with the word 'because' which means he's responding to a question asked of him.

I'm pretty much convinced regardless of if the voice actor is right or not that the character is the groh's dad character. Unless that line above was purposely misleading which it very well could be.

A lot of casulas are pretty upset because of a DLC announcement...

Maybe we have to wait few days for the season pass pre-order.
I think this is because the Deluxe edition just have the base game + season pass, so they probably thought bundling the digital copy was the best course of action.

The more I hear the Gloomy's voice in SC 6 the less I like it.

In previous games is more aggressive, also Jolly and gloomy are more different from each other.

I just saying it, I'm not a fanboy of Tira but I like the char. I clarify this because I saw discussions about this in the previous pages.

It’s because they’ve made her American...
All of her Previous iterations have had a British tone to her voice.
So the pronunciation was a lot more distinctive especially with vowels or when the tone of voice is mumbled or stressed.

She does come across as more calm and collected in the trailer so that adds to the change as well.

I’m really going to miss the British accent as a fan, it was part of her signature.

I would have liked a digital art book or soundtrack included with it...the deluxe edition is not a good deal. It will probably end up being cheaper to just pre-order the game (to get tira) and then pay separately for the rest of it as they release piece by piece. I think unless they add a character or two to the season pass it's simply not worth picking up unless you miss getting Tira.

But is not just with the English voice, I saw the Japanese trailer and is the same :c . Well, at least in Japanese voice the Jolly is more like a childy voice and the Gloomy is more deep than English, but still not so aggressive. Fortunatelly I always use the japanese voices in SC games.

It'll be really fucking funny if people who splurged for the $150 collector's edition can't play Tira day one because the didn't pre-order the deluxe edition.

But I doubt that would be the case.

It's amazing to me how much confusion and anger Bamco managed to create out of what SHOULD have been a positive, exciting announcement.
You're absolutely right! I have already done my pre-order of the psysical copy of the game and I cannot pre-order the season pass on PSN store. That's a nonsense. :(

It was last year that I heard and shared here that Groh would have "daddy issues" and not get along with his father character that would also be part of the story, use a new and unique moveset, and be playable.

Huh it seems it is worse than I thought regarding the Tira issue. I was under the impression Tira was pre-order for ordering the base game. Seems the official twitter has corrected that and she is only available for those that pre-order the season pass or will be available separate the season pass down the road. This is monumentally a really bad way of handling things.

Just to clarify, Tira is available as a bonus character in the SCVI Season Pass. Pre-order the season pass to get Tira on day-one as well three additional playable characters and two armor packs in the future. She will also be available as a standalone DLC."

If she were just a pre-order character (which is still bad) at least they could argue that all the other fighting games did the same thing...but this is a pre-order bonus (on release) for pre-ordering the season pass. I think someone high up wants soul calibur to fail because this is a really bad idea. I'm getting the game regardless but the season pass is overpriced without knowing what else will be in it and not even having Tira as part of the season pass (she's only available to people who pre-order it) is dumb as well.

She is part of the season pass. Pre-ordering the SP gets you Tira early but not pre-ordering it and buying it later still gets you her. Later.

She is the bonus character listed as part of the season pass information.

All DLC is covered by the season pass.

All DLC will also be available, individually, later.

Ahh it’s probably a character development thing.
She doesn’t seem to be associated with soul edge at all this time round her soul charge state is a big indication of that.
She could have gotten worse mentally because of the swords influence, and since there is none this time I guess that’s translating to mild schizophrenia.

I don’t mind Japanese for shonen stuff. But with character development and expression I feel it’s too templated.
Which is why I’ve loved Tira’s English especially SC3, the VA did an amazing job, it’s almost criminal she wasn’t called back to do the other games.

With how poorly they did the information for Tira I'm going to need them to actually state all of those things before I buy into any of them. Don't get me wrong I'm getting the game and the season pass...but I fully understand that this is a really dumb move on their part and it should be discussed. I imagine they will lose a good amount of potential buyers because of this poor marketing maneuver.

OK thanks for clarifying, that's clearer. You get Tira with the season pass regardless, but if you don't want to wait you need to preorder the season pass. I preordered the CE, which according to gamestop should contain the season pass so I guess I'm all right.
Still, I really think the information about this and the editions of the game has been handled extremely badly, it's almost Microsoft branding departement levels of incompetency.

Same shit happen again, SoulCalibur is a playtesting ground, maybe they are pushing things to check if people would accept it later for Tekken ? Harada :( ?

I think this definitely has Harada's fingerprints all over it. He really hates soulcalibur. You are most likely right they are probably using soulcalibur to test the limits of what people will accept...because if that's not what they are doing there's no reasonable explanation for why they couldn't see what negative backlash this would have.
