At this point, I am heartbroken about the semi-rational thinking that Rock will not make it... very much so... :sc4roc1:

I was hoping Hwang/Lizardman/Rock would be in the CAS dropdown for premade characters as they would make great filler characters in the storyline. They also would fail as DLC but would appeal to the nostalgia fanbase. You get to beat up on all 3 of them for every character's storyline. But it seems less and less people believe I'm right... oh the pain... :sc2ber2:

I would rather they all be legit characters instead of that. Rock needs some work done. He could become decent and likable to the majority of people if they change enough of him but i dont know if PS will bother with that.

SC4 Rock had a great design. Sure, the damage and poor hitboxes made him low tier, but from a design perspective he was great. I wouldn't mind that version of Rock polished up like they did in the handheld version. I think he's not there for the simple reason is he doesn't have boobs and boobs sell... just like at the fan hype for Cass, Setsuka, Tira, and even Hilde if she comes next. Even AMY... AMY!!!! You're going for Ralph/Amy and not Rock/Asta? It's pretty obvious boobs sell. So we're getting more of that.

If sc6 was releasing a different year, I could see a ff char being a guest, but not this year. I think also nier fits slightly better in the theme, as 2b’s outfits are more romantic in line with soul calibur whereas ff7 is more plainclothed. Maybe for sc7 (which would match numerically).

Also, androids would be fine since they have those automotons in CAS.

One thing to keep in mind as we speculate DLC and upcoming characters is that while Namco will want to maximize DLC profits, they need to also maximize their base game sales... thus, their base roster must be attractive enough to all types of players.

Animal skins and furs can be cool but they have to be done right. Lose the head and replace that with a striped or spotted fur hood. Black and white is the best choice. Use something like wolf or wolverine head guantlets. So its as if an opponent is getting mauled everytime he grabs them. If i'm not mistaken, he's a former Knight turned native, correct? I bet they could do something cool and scary looking by putting together armor pieces/helmets broken down and melted together for a cloak or as his club.

I still want Zoro from One Piece as the guest DLC. But I won't be upset if that isn't the case as long as they get a really popular character. This game needs all the sales it can get and I don't care if 2B breaks immersion as long as she brings new buyers with her.

That should be the sole focus for possible guest characters. Popularity.

honestly I don't want to see another guest character in the SP
I'd prefer to see more original characters make the cut

1)Setsuka
2.)Yun-seong/Hwang
3)Z.W.E.I or Viola
should make it before anyone else. While i'd like to see Cassandra back I'd rather see a larger variety of styles before getting ones with similar weapons. And while a guest like 2B would great it would probably annoy people who wanted their main to come back.

You know who would be a better choice than 2B? Lebron James. They could spin his backstory as being a former knight who abandoned his company to join Nightmare because they weren't winning. I can see it now, he would play like a more aggressive and masculine Viola with with a "strange, striped orb" for a weapon. RE would look like basketball crossovers that put opponents in the grounded stun animation if they guess wrong.

I mean lets face facts, Lebron James will sell way more copies than 2B ever will. If Namdai cant secure a deal with him, go with Shaq. He'll do it. Hell, he's had his own fighting game at one point.

I'd also like to see Donald Trump as a playable character, also much better idea than 2B if all we care about is sales. The shock value alone will gather so much attention. People will buy him just so they can beat the snot out of him in training mode if nothing else.

His bread'n butter normals will be splashing a hot cup of covfefe for standard As and Bs. Occasionally saying "covfefe" with some attacks but not all of them because that'll get annoying. He doesnt have a block but he can absorb hits like SF4 focus mechanics by waving his hand at attacks calling them "fake news". His other defensive option is summoning "aides" that shuffle out like zombies to block an opponent. They dont actually attack or do anything but they are in the way so you have to hit them to get to Trump. The trick is he can "fire" his "aides" which actually does catch them on fire making it an unblockable attack. So the opponent has to be careful and space properly away from aides or else they'll get hit with the "firing". His CE will put a close up of him lighting a cigar saying "i'm sending an armada" and the way that works is there is a completely random spot on the stage that will kill you if you step on it via bombing from a naval ship, but there is no way to tell where the armada is. Of course if it sucessfully hits, he says "very powerful, very powerful!" He doesnt have a Soul Charge but instead he steals an opponents meter by shrugging and saying "its a billion dollar system" so opponent pays for his meter.

Can we keep politics out of this please?

You know exactly what I mean and are being purposely obtuse. What was point of writing all that? Do you feel better now? Got that tantrum out of your system and ready to actually discuss things like an adult?

Did you know ahead of time that not everyone agrees "popularity is all that matters" yes you did. Did you say it anyway? Yes.

It was important to drive home the point that not everything is actually appropriate and i feel it takes rather extreme examples to get that point accross.

"You know exactly what i mean" Yeah, i do. You mean that the bar for an appropriate character for the game is wherever you think it is but different people will obviously think differently.

Popularity is what matters when it comes to guest characters. Fans are just going to have to get over the fact that guest characters aren't really for them. They are for fans of the guest, who likely wouldn't pay much attention to the game if they weren't in it.

Your complaints aren't going to change that. You're not the target audience for DLC guests like 2B. Who would be an optional guest that you don't even have to buy if you don't want her.

If popularity from other franchises is all that matters to bring in extra players then perhaps an X-Men character should be in instead of 2B, which BTW would be a better fit. I think people overestimate 2B popularity which IMO Bayonetta and Dante outshine.
