Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I got to try out SC6 at PAX this past weekend. GGs @Niwona

I don't have much to add other than what's already been said, but the game feels great, looks great, and I couldn't stop going back to it. That said, I'm still not a fan of Reversal Edge. Button mashers seemed to like it, of course. Just watching casual players reacting to the game reassured me that the game is probably going to do just fine sales-wise.

Had a really funny conversation with a random SC fan at the event. He'd clearly been following SC6 news and was excited for the game, so I asked him if there were any more characters he was really hoping for.

Him: "Not really. I mean, Seung Mi-Na and Cassandra have been my mains since SC2."
Me: "Oh. But... Cassandra's not announced?"
Him: "Well yeah, but Sophitia's in the game and they basically play the same."

Ouch for Cassandra fans. :(
 
I think Xianghua's story art is the most beautiful one I've seen so far omg

I hope they release a small gameplay trailer for Libra of Souls. If they showcase it in a less vague way then they could easily expand the audience to RPG fans as well as FG fans.

Was picking up Divinity and Dragon Quest XI and the TVs at GameStop were previewing this. Guess there is hype for this. Still on the fence honestly. Best girl and best dudes are back, but I want a masculine cutlass, not that magical girl act X does.

Yes, and i still will be, just might be waiting a bit if i can't get a great discount right away. The game as a whole is doing a lot of things i like, especially on the gameplay and content sides, and despite a good bit of things disappointing me as well, they don't detract that much from the overall experience.

Go back and read what I wrote, I spoke on her potential and quite blatantly acknowledged the reality of the situation, you’ve just read too much into my frustration.

Point still stands though vaulted potential sucks. :(

I don't know. I don't see potential in her story....sorry. Even Rothion has more potential. 😭😭😭😭
 
Found a short and mostly unbiased look at Denuvo from the various perspectives, for those of you who are interested but not in the know
True anti-denuvo arguments
  • It can cause a game to expire
  • It's a second layer DRM
  • It makes single player games need internet multiple times after installation
  • It takes time and money that could of been used to make the game better
  • It "can" cause performance problems

False anti-Denuvo arguments
  • It destroys SSDs
  • It makes modding impossible (though can be altered to do so in some games, such as Tekken 7)
  • Only people that are pro-Denuvo are paid or trolls

True Pro-Denuvo arguments
  • It's Publishers choice
  • It protects longer than other DRM

False Pro-Denuvo arguments
  • Only pirates complain about Denuvo
  • Denuvo doesn't effect paying customer
  • Denuvo doesn't get pirated (some people deny it like it goes against their religion)
