Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

There was no Melbourne build. It's just Namco playing mind games and then trying to throw us off with dummy move lists and now biased playing cards. This is to create additional hype (or disappointment!) when all cards are finally put on the table. Just accept it: the world does not work the way you thought and was taught: officials play psychological games, and fake news exists in abundance.

i dont know man, TBH i think the leak was a honest mistakeand it went like this:

Okubo: Send them the latest build
PS employee: oke boss * proceeds to send the IGN build*

*Days pass...*

*Day of Melbourne event arrives...*

Okubo: *Sees they send the latest build meant only for IGN* ... DELETE IT ALL !!! I WANT NO TRACE OF THIS EVER EXISTED!

Bamco Delete ninjas: はい!( YES SIR! )

End of events.

You guys have so much to learn about the real world, which is changing drastically. You need to wise up soon, otherwise you will not be able to survive in the future. [This documentary] serves to paint *a very accurate picture* of human nature and reality; this is why we have fake event news (Melbourne), fake leaks (Taki) and biased playing cards.

No thanks, I've already got a hobby.

Is there any actual coverage of the Melbourne event? Like official matches or anything like that?

Also is there any official confirmation on weather those cards were official or fan made? The artwork is high res so I'm guessing they're probably legit since we have yet to have any high res artwork of Cervantes or Raphael released.

Yeah there isnt really a way to make decent looking Cervantes and Raphael from photoshoped, grainy, awkward angled, screen images.

Here it is again in case you missed it - used real SCVI footage, but the background story and players' names were FAKED as part of Namco's mockery of us:

Bless Namco's various international divisions for all the blunderful leaks and feeding our SCVI info addiction.

Somebody needs to transcribe the commentary in this video, so you can try to understand the satire for yourselves:

This hype train is losing steam fast. I’m going to try and keep myself away and go back to tekken 7.

If they really have nothing more than Raphael and Cervantes then it’s just a waiting game.

They're going to reveal the opening cinematic with Hwang getting the Johnny Cage MK Annihilation movie treatment.

Hisako (Killer Instinct)
Ooohhh ok. Now i remember her. For a while i was considering that game. Mostly because i'm old enough to remember the first one but honestly the majority of the new characters are just kinda "meh".

She seemed alright but i remember thinking they were pushing the japanese horror film thing a little too hard with the weird hiccup movements. (Dont know how to describe it better)

I saw the video, but was there a tournament scheduled at the event or anything like that? If so I'm wondering if there is any footage of the build they were supposed to be using after the fact. You'd think if there was an event like this fans would have captured some gameplay like they have at all the other events or at least the host would have uploaded a stream or something. What's the point of having an event if there's no coverage? Kind of defeats the purpose.

Also I find it a bit weird that he says "Character creation is unlocked but we aren't aloud to use it." Considering they weren't technically aloud to be playing that build at all.

I don't know all the rules and regulations of copyrights and all that jazz but technically speaking would Bandai Namco even have the right to have these videos and images taken down the way they did if they didn't technically own the footage itself? Or is that a thing? Just seems odd that all of those things were taken down so quickly and yet nothing has really been done about these playing cards which conveniently enough feature the same two fighters that were leaked. What's more is that after doing a bit of digging I found out that these cards are a pre-order bonus when you pre-order from eb games in... 🥁*drum roll*🥁 Australia! Imagine that.

Whatever the case, I'd be very surprised if they had nothing more to show us at TGS. This is basically the last hurrah before the game launches. I think they've got a good surprise in store for us.

They probably said that with the assumption that they had given them the right build. Basically, irony - they restricted them from character creation on the basis that they would come across the styles of unrevealed characters, and yet...look what happened. Lol.

Yeah I kind of figured that was probably the case, but thought it was worth mentioning. I still want to try to find some actual coverage on this event though.

In all my absolute weirdness and whilst thinking about how much I want the game and imagining an appropriate scene from my beloved My Little Pony (don't judge...) I came up with the daft idea to do a silly 'countdown' to Soulcalibur VI's release by posting short, silly videos each Friday expressing my impatience and desire for the game until the actual release day.

Week 6:

I'm aware it's dumb and stupid, lol. It's just a means of having fun and celebrating the upcoming release with my warped sense of humor. If people actually like it then I'll share the future ones too when I make 'em. They'll be a similar length (I already made Weeks 5 and 4 'cause I had ideas for 'em, lol).

We're close guys! There's a lot of shaky ground with the small roster and pitiful stage number but the game still looks so much better and more fun than SCIV and SCV and I hope with all my heart they'll do right by us with the characters and stages via DLC.

Yeah, there may be less characters or stages than in IV and V, but it looks much much better than both of those.
I'm very excited for SCVI too.
