Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Oh, so my dream of Nakoruru guest appearance just became slightly more possible? Cool. While i know the majority of westerners wouldn't care, her popularity might be a bit different in japan and they may see that as an opportunity to pull in japanese players. Only thing is ... will Samurai Spirits be multiplatform?

DOA base roster starts to look a lot more impressive than SC6 ;(

17 confirmed already & there's still half a year left
I see nothing non-impressive with this, especially if we consider the vast diversity of characters' gameplay.

This constant negativity really results in this thread radiating an immense feeling of unpleasantness and ungratefulness. I love how we're even getting a SC6 with a good chunk of most beloved characters on the base roster, two content packed story modes, fluid and deep gameplay, not to even mention some modes we haven't seen yet, and yet people still feel the need to do nothing but harp on about the fact that we only have 11 stages, like of all the things to pick on when we have all the rest. It's gonna put people off of coming here.

All i can say is i'm way too focused on figuring out a match and how to beat an opponent to put any attention on a stage. Or at least not enough to be disappointed with 11 stages.

Definitely, i wasn't too impress with the characters evolution from DOA5 to DOA6 shown so far, while SC6 every character shown has been a huge step forward compare to their last appearance, i didn't get the same feel with DOA6 and even T7 vanilla at some points.

As was pointed out several times by the commentators at the French Top 8 yesterday, though, stage knowledge is also key, and seasoned players take into advantage stage presence just as much as character matchups. It does make a difference, not having sufficient variation of stages, if they're all practically the same, it is a legitimate complaint. Lack of iconic styled stages like the raft, or transitional stages, real ones, not just day/night cycles, are things that we've had previously and come to expect. Almost anything being cut from a future release, be it characters, styles, stages, anything, it's going to get ire from long-term fans. That's just something that's true of anything, though, really, not unique to SoulCalibur.

That being said, we still should be excited that we're getting a new game at all, depressing as that may come across, we really are fortunate that we're getting a new game at all, given what SoulCalibur has been through, between natural disasters and all of the executive meddling. That we're getting two full story modes, that in itself is an amazing thing, along with the return to formula of SoulCalibur II, while keeping some of the better parts of the newer games, and adding a few new other things, it just really is an accomplishment that we're getting as much as we are. It could always be more, but there's not really much sense whining about it.

If it's proven that SoulCalibur does have a place in the fighting game community, or even the gaming community as a whole, perhaps we'll get an even greater game than before, and SoulCalibur VII can be the SoulCalibur II to SoulCalibur VI's SoulCalibur I. But we won't get there if we're already in despair before the game comes out. Liven up a little, and expect great things, because I'm sure we'll be getting them come October 19th.

I keep wondering if the people who complain about these things had an opportunity to play the game. To me, the game is so good all of these things don't matter. 2p can be made into dlc free or not, whatever, stages can be added too. But the gameplay is insanely good and the game looks exciting to watch, the effects are just enough to not be too much. I literally played for less than 2 hours and it made me 10 times more hyped up than I was.

Samurai Spirits looks really fun, but with SCVI, i doubt i'll have time or care to give to any other game lol. I don't wanna buy it just to play it once or twice then go back to SCVI 24/7.. i probably will, tho.
THIS.

I was watching an old Street Fighter V tourney out of curiosity and I was like "should I get this so I have some fresh meat to play until October?" but then I was like "nah 'cause once SCVI comes out I'll never touch it again..." XD

Wish someone could press the fast-forward button on life for a bit until the release, or at least he next reveal. Starving over here.

To be fair, there was quite an evolution in character models from DOA4 to DOA5. It was SC who was behind and needed to catch up, and I am glad they have. To this day there's something off in Ivy's torso in SC4/5 that they finally fixed.

Up to these day, I still think Team Ninja are the best doing 3D models
