Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Speak of figures if anyone that preorder from best buy doesn't want there Talim figure I'd be willing to buy of them granted the figure doesn't look like complete arse

On another topic, what do you guys think about the SC6 steam page? IMO i think they should ad all the trailers they have to steam, its like the steam page is a little bit neglected, well there is like a month to go till the release so they still have some time to do something.

What really grinds my gears with the steam page atm is that 'Soul Calibur' doesn't bring up the game when searching through Steam itself. There are a lot of people (and quite a few friends) who still think the game isn't up on steam because Soulcalibur is 1 word, not 2, and isn't tagged as such properly. I /really/ hope that gets fixed.

Is everyone okay with Raphael and Inferno being the last reveals for the base roster? Has this reboot been satisfying you so far with what has been shown?
It would be less than ideal, but I haven't lost faith in Hwang and Lizardman. I'll still probably love the game if they don't make it in, really looking forward to playing both of the story modes and looking at what new things can be made with CaS, as well as learning all the new character quirks and mechanics, of course. It's definitely already leaps and bounds greater than SoulCalibur IV and SoulCalibur V.

Before leaks: Eww keep Lizzy away!

After leaks: We want Lizzy!

At least we’re getting another game with content. And CaS wasn’t butchered.

And honestly the first thing I want to see leaked is Mi-Na’s story just to see if we’re going to fight lots of Qing Long users.

Still, I’m thinking that the absentees who appear as NPCs will piss lots of users off. Especially if they’re fought.

Your optimism slipping is telling :(

Just like SCV, the roster will not be perfect for everyone. However, remember that

- we got a new game, which seemed quite impossible
- we've got Okubo, who is willing to fight the higher-ups to make SCVI as good as possible
- they are planning an extended support of the game
- they want to go back to what made the game so unique
- they prefered quality over quantity

So no, we won't have every single character we want, but SCVI is a step in the right direction to fix what SCV broke. Let's just be thankful we're getting a new game that seems really promising though imperfect (but I double dare you to find games of a long-running franchise that are perfection in the current generation of consoles).

I am very glad, Taki is there, Mina too, Mitsu has Relic again, and all that new stuff!!!
RE, character specific gimmicks.
And Soul Charge is back!
How awesome is that?
I'd still miss Lizardman and Cass tho.

Admittedly, I would have liked Cassandra, but I have my three central mains anyway - Sophitia, Xianghua and Tira, so really I am not affected. I have my secondaries as well (Raphael). I just want to be really optimistic and enjoy this game as much as I can so that other people can get interested and the series can live on. My soul is always burning.

Real talk, they need to fix the Steam search terms.

This needs to be fixed soon or it will have a very negative impact on sales.

Put your "WELL AKCHUALLY" technical correctness aside and just know that with proper search terms this game will have more exposure, and therefore more sales.

When the game and time frame were officially announced I made a list of all the characters starting with who I thought were the essentials, then ones that were still likely, then the toss ups, and the not much chance in hell. No leaks, just my personal feeling on who needs to be in a Soulcalibur game. Leaned towards unique movesets and away from SC4 and 5. Also most movesets that didn't make it into SC5 other than Talim were ranked pretty low.

My only real miss near the cutoff line was Setsuka but even then it's a crap shoot when you get to the bottom of a roster. So the game has gone as expected for me. Only 2 of the 9 characters I played the last decade, but I've always been a bottom feeder when it comes to characters.

I'm glad there are multiple single player modes and something to do with crated characters beyond multiplayer cause that was a major deficit for casual players. Great, I can create a character...now what?

I send them a support ticket about this, it will help if you guys send them one as well.

The game does have a couple major issues with the roster that may affect how its received by the public.

1. Missing favorites, particularly of the female variety.
2. Small amount of new characters.

Fighting game sequels not including fan-favorites every new game is definitely common but new characters are what makes that acceptable to players.

Since we are at the end of the line with reveals and so many popular characters still left, that means all future DLC priority would go to them. This leaves out any possibility of surprise returns such as bonus characters, Algol, etc. I'd say its not such a great thing if we can all easily predict who will be on DLC.

Concerning all those missing popular characters, i dont main any of them. For that reason i'm pretty interested in whatever guests we are getting (2B being the exception). Guests are taking as much if not more priority than missing favorites i think.

A very large focus should have been placed on improving customization. Meaning adding equipment options, additional layers, that sort of thing. The reason is everyone appreciates that aspect, weather they play single player or online. We havent yet had an in-depth look at it but i'm just saying improving that will help players forgive the game's shortcomings.
