Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

My first time playing Groh!
He's really fun, though it was kinda hard to figure him out with the Nightmare matchup wrecking me. The guy clearly had no patience for my noobishness 'cause he refused the rematch XD
 
Wow i did 2 moves with Ivy that i though weren't in the game, but don't know how. Also still didn't found about old Jump B, maybe it got removed but i think i've seen it at least once in a video (unless i dreamed it lol).

Oh man they shoud've tell us there won't be practice mode so i would have started my researches earlier lol

Also Nightmare feels too strong, very fast, insane damage, huge hitbox, he got them all, it's early but he really feels too strong now.
 
Christ... a whole hour on the 'All/Any' settings and still no match. As much as I want to persist I'm starting to feel really deflated and like I can't be bothered anymore :( Guess there's no reason not the leave the game running anyway 'just in case' but jeez this really kills the mood.

Nah, NM is kinda slow and pretty much useless in close range. His damage and huge hitbox is a fair tradeoff.
 
Started going through all the characters and got to Maxi, who I've never played in any Soulcalibur except the odd random Arcade playthrough. His style just goes over my head. However, this guy, whilst clearly better than me by a mile, didn't trash me for a better opponent and played a full set of three matches with me. I felt like apologizing for how boring it must've been, lol.

Anyway, here's my awful Maxi gameplay (you were warned):
 
Can anyone tell me some good moves foram nightmare that can allow me to get the opponent off of me? I remember he had b6 back in sc2 and a few nice kicks in SC5, but here everytime someone gets on top of me i feel like my only option is GI or RE. Thanks ^^
