Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

It's crazy conspiracy theory time.
What if Namco implemented Patroklos' moveset for CAS enemies like Rothion?

For the record, I think there's roughly zero chance they actually did this (maybe if they actually had a proper budget for the game), but that would be a fun way to see discarded movesets make a return (they could do like SC3 and make it available for CAS).

Notable excerpt:

You can change your voice, background, and the lines you use in battle – even the context in which you’ll use them. This beetle-horned dragon, who I have called Scaleyboy for the sake of simplicity, now only talks about fire, heat and his own breath. He does this in the voice of a “transcendental being”. He’s pretty metal.

Unless the writer is sorely mistaken, it seems as though Battle Comments are indeed a way to fully customize the dialogue of your character (main cast included, if the old Sophitia customization video is anything to go by). Very cool.

OK now i'm finding this intriguing, supposedly 'Cervantes' has to perform 12 gun shots which ever way weather in combo or shooting straight or in air he'll then have access to this combo. whats intriguing is the fact that im hearing other characters have hidden property's as well like 'Tira' for example that she needs 9 gloomy s and she stays gloomy for the rest of the match. Maxi's stance flashes aren't actual jfs but a sign towards his seven stars rebirth mechanic which im yet to see. This game is looking more and more bad ass and cant wait to see what else is there hidden. imagine all characters with hidden attributes that shits cool as fuck!
I'm really loving how varied the lethal hit activation conditions in this game are.

My only concern is that the conditions be explained in the movelist. From what I've seen it looks like moves get labelled as "LH" or not, but it doesn't explain what exactly activates the lethal hit. Having to look that up online might be a pain.

I guess but at the same time i used to love finding hidden just frames that weren't on the movelist in sc4 so it feels rewarding for me. i guess these are some of the things Okubo talked about it being some of the most robustly packed soul calibur game to date. lets see what else is in store for us.

If I recall correctly, there is a tooltip at the bottom of the screen of some of the movelists we've seen so far where it's explained what the LH condition is.

so this confirms that we can choose cas characters lines right ? Also there one for VS screen which might happen when you choose the character

I hope that guy is correct but what does “transcendental being” mean?
like if he just chose the lizardman voice and modified it what even is?

idk. if you can do that for the main cast that's gonna be weird as fuck.

"Transcendental Being" is one of the voice options, one of the ones with dialogue, not Lizardman voice:

well shit... fuck... i really hope he isn't mistaken.

what are the implications of this... that's allot of voice quips.

Uhm...I don't believe any of that about being able to customize the lines until I hear it in a video. Pretty sure the article is mistaken and battle comments is just text...

I mean think about it: The first 8 voice options are recycled from SCV. (At least for female, I never made male CAS...)

I may not be following you. It lists a lot of in battle occurrences, such as GI, RE, etc... would you suggest there is an annoying text box that pops up everytime something happens?

This.

I've heard plenty of people say it might just be text but I've yet to hear a reasonable explanation of how it would be implemented in any kind of worthwhile way if it was.

while that's true it's just as odd that they would
1. have reused voices from other games that don't seem to be re-recorded
2. have all those voice lines for even the main roster
3. have ALL those voice lines, cause there's allot, especially for over 30 voices.

the simplest answer is it's text.
