Wait, what? That makes no sense. Tira occupies the slot above Random, which SHOULD mean the other 3 slots are the other DLC. If Inferno is really in that top corner then how do the other DLC characters fit? Is Tira just an exception 'cause she's Day 1? And if so, does that mean other DLC charactesr will be in a 'category' in the centre slot or something like Bonus Characters? And does this mean there ARE unlockables?

My brain hurts and my emotions are all over the place T_T
 
I wouldn't worry too much about how the character select screen is laid out because it's clear Bamco don't care.

Seriously why is there only two spots yet there's three DLC characters? Either there's two unlockables or they're just gonna add another white dot for the third DLC character.

Buuuuuuuuuuut that can indeed be a fake pic, although it looks pretty legit. I'm sure everything will leak tomorrow or after tomorrow and we'll know for sure if there ARE still unlockable characters or those last 2 slots remain empty for DLC.

He didn't say that. The tweet said it. The "message" part of the tweet probably just meant what he was saying in the embedded video of the same tweet, about being at the event. There was never any solid indication that he was going to announce any new information.

A poorly communicated tweet plus misunderstanding from those who shared it. No lies.
 
Azwel needs to show Namco some goddamn love and reason, because Inferno’s spot makes negative sense. I guess if there’s any positive in this, it reinforces the idea that the bottom left and bottom right slots can very easily be unlockable characters now, highly doubt they would be DLC now. They will probably add a DLC slot above each of those two slots, and the second guest will go above Geralt in the middle. But this would be logical, so I’m sure literally anything else will actually happen.
 
I don't understand this character select screen. It's too weird.
If PS was trying to do a good side and evil side, Azwel would fit well on the left because he thinks he is saving people.

Also, with how the Ranked character select was, maybe we won't even see the chracter select screen for Casual online. It'd look weird with Inferno missing...

I don't know if it was poorly communicated. It seemed pretty clear from the beginning to me. It was just Dynasty and bros changing the context.

Anyway more characters hyyyyyype I will guess Edgemaster and Lizzy.

Yes, doubt the bottom two are dlc unless the middle slot is also dlc. Or if they have just been using the build to test dlc characters that are close to finish but not yet, and they will just redo the select screen when the dlc come out.

DLC slot in the middle is the only way they can achieve balance, with an odd number. I say the DLC second guest goes there, right above Geralt, and the other two returning character DLC would go left of Talim and right of Tira.
 
Welp, we’ve just entered the alternate universe where Inferno is considered good. Maybe top corner slots are reserved for bosses...?

I can vibe with the idea of second guest being center slot, but I’m not too keen on the last two slots being anything but DLC. Perhaps, the remainder of the slots are also on-disc DLC like Tira? Not that that would be good for PR, but we haven’t seen anything else that would indicate that either (like Tira being found in arcade).
 
Positioning of inferno might make sense via proximity and dotted lines. Sieg has a close relationship with inferno and xianghua, maxi, and kilik faced inferno in sc1. Zas has some story with Inferno too in later sc.

If this is the case, and the remaining 3 spots are unlockable, then maybe edge master is in middle, lizardman is next to cas, and a random round switcher is in the last slot.
