Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I hope they will ban customs from ranked. It just doesnt help anyone learn the game properly. If someone is new, the multitude of different voice overs and appearances overlaying the same fighting styles is too confusing to me. Regular characters with edited appearances are fine to fight.

Yeah I actually think this is super awkward for them, on the one hand, one of soul caliburs biggest draws is it's super good customization options compared to most fighters but on the other hand it really does take away from anyone actually taking ranked seriously.
I'm average at best at this game and i beat some d3 nightmare who was on a 30something win streak because i covered my character in shells and spammed seeable lows all game.

Yeah, probably. I'll readily admit i've never been spectacular at SC. Especially now since i have very little time to actually play it. However, maybe talking down to people for critcizing a game they purchased isn't the best idea when the very next post from you is doing exactly that.
Okay if you're not going to fight me then at least stop being insufferable and quoting me incorrectly. People who quit despite Namco's attempt to salvage egos should be punished meaningfully, and I don't care how much folks like CaS, it becomes a shitshow when someone takes more damage than they should in a game where everyone is stronger than ever. Heights should be locked to styles. I see no real reason for you to be bitter for me saying that. As far as my previous quote, I'm tired of this plebeian echo chamber of "doesn't fit, bad design, give us the solar system on a silver platter" etc.

People who purchase a game can come on here and criticize any aspect of it they don't like. Whether that be how online matches are handled or characters that make the roster, etc. You're opinion isn't any more or less legitimate than anyone else's.

Stay wrong and scrubby.

for me a match vs a custom character with a different voice than the original character, not to mention size or ridiculous outfit, is a waste of time. I want to play this game competitively but I am a beginner (after playing SC5 for barely a month or so) and I have to dismiss all experience from matches vs custom characters. Sound cues, lighting effects, size of character. Everything is changed. I have much less of a problem fighting the normal cast, but I'd say 2 out of 3 matches I get is customs, often hideous. Often with weirdly pitched voice that is annoying...

I've always wished they'd remove CAS but not character editing. CAS is a major selling point for the game so they'll never do it but i'll bet it would free up a lot of development time and cost so they could focus on other things.

As far back as i can remember since joining this site, reading posts and seeing that word thrown around has been very funny. No one thinks they're a scrub. The line is always drawn conveniently at their exact skill level. So automatically anyone they beat in a match is a scrub.

Golden rule of playing video games: Anyone who I can beat is a scrub, while anyone that can beat me is a no-life virgin.

I think you're the one a little bitter, dude. If you don't like the echo chamber then just move on to more superior endeavors and leave us mere plebs to talk amongst ourselves.

No one should really bitch about rage quits at this point. I get that it is a little annoying at times but i mean really think about it, how could there be a greater feeling of satisfaction? If you're stomping the shit out of them, are you going to gather anything insightful from finishing the match anyway? That is time which could be spent on finding someone decent. To my knowledge we dont get any significant unlocks like CAS parts or characters for ranked wins. Ever since online gaming has existed, this has been and always will be a thing, so it cant be fixed anyway.

I'd hate for someone to get penalized if their connection dropped or they had to take care of a kid in the house or some other random shit. Really it just isnt that big of a deal.

I doubt most "ragequitters" actually "rage" as they quit. Ragequitter is a derogatory term implying the person has no control over her/his emotions and can't cope with defeat, therefor quitting. It's a flawed, short-sighted conclusion.

Fighters (especially SC...) always bring bad player etiquette in various forms and quitting a game is actually a statement against such play. There's never any point in playing if you're not having fun, and if the opponent repetitively behaves like a dick I'd say that a statement is justified. Then again, people will always interpret these things in their own favor.
