Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Hmmm, I'd say this increases the chances of seeing Cass at the Tokyo tournament,

It'll be weird if they are gonna announce Cass at the Tokyo event and then season 2 at Evo. That's the most bizarre marketing plan of all time (unless Cass was delayed due to development difficulties. Maybe they had difficulty perfecting her new butt attacks).

I don't know, I think it makes sense to me. They were probably trying to thread the needle between 1) not releasing Cassie so late that they just barely made it within the "by the end of summer" deadline they committed to, and 2) delaying her long enough that there was still some residual buzz/speculation about upcoming content by the time they make the Season 2 announcement. Mind you, I'm inclined to admit profound uncertainty about any likely upcoming dates (for reveals or releases); I'm just saying that if Cassie's reveal is Tokyo and Season 2's is EVO, I'm not so sure that would be all that weird. That said, I think they should have announced Cassandra as soon as she was nearing completion, but that's easy for me to say and, in any event, a different topic entirely. :)

I think a very long period of no character announcement with 2 sets of character announcements basically side-by-side would be weird. But maybe Namco's marketing department is very stubborn about only having major announcements at big tournaments.

But well, we'll know soon enough. I'm still thinking no announcement at Tokyo tournament with Cass at season 2. But it is very interesting that Okubo will be attending the Tokyo tournament.

Can you fault them? That shit's obviously the most important thing to get right.

Cassandra and Sophitia shared Eurydice Shrine in SoulCalibur II, but yes, the Burning Gallery of Old Toledo, Spain, of all places, was Cassandra’s stage in SoulCalibur III. Then they went back to sharing their tropical summer home version of Eurydice Shrine in SoulCalibur IV. It’s possible, but I don’t think very likely, that Cassandra will get a new stage. I’m just keeping my expectations low/real, for now.

And Cassandra’s narrative, as written, has her as a baker at home until her first journey, so for all intents and purposes, she may as well have been a house cat. They didn’t “give Tira context”, either, they just showed us the story that was buried in her biographical information before but never shown in-game.

The “history hides away more than one truth” angle is referring to Azwel’s machinations behind the scenes that we never knew about before. And Grøh, I guess. But I don’t really see Azwel messing with Cassandra’s artisan breads or sweet pastries. Or maybe he would, I dunno.

Then by that explaintion Cassandra isn’t going to be in Soulcalibur 6...

But she is, so she’s most likely going to have a story that goes with that.
(I know about the stages, been hardcore since SC1)

And the stage doesn’t have to be Cassandra focused, it could just be a stage to fill the last place holder, I mean why have it there in the first place.
PS can’t be THAT sloppy! LOL

Poor Okubo's been chained to a desk for the last 6 months working on animating Cassandra's butt.
God help us, at this point it would not surprise me to learn that Namco hired all of the jiggle-physics experts Team Ninja had to let go in order to further bimbofy our formerly fierce valkyrie... I fear they won't be satisfied before they turn every aspect of her design that used to be a sharp angle into a perfectly rounded curve..

I can pretty much guarantee you that you're not getting a stage with Cassie. A stage is a major investment of development resources: the chance of them just throwing one in at the end of the season pass for free is pretty negligible. I'd normally say there was a less than 1% chance of that. But in this case, they have also very recently addressed the calls for more stages using language that demonstrates they have only just recently began to give renewed consideration to the idea of making additional stages: those comments from just weeks ago make clear that they haven't even committed to doing anything in this vein just yet, let alone started the process. There's just no way a stage would be done in time to be released besides Cassandra. So, I'd adjust the odds that you are getting another stage in Season 2 to less than 0.1%. I hate to say it, because I'm first citizen of the tribe of people who want to spend all day bitching about just how atrocious the stage selection is this time around, but I just don't see it happening with Cassie. Goodness knows I'd be happy to be proven wrong, no matter how much crow I'd have to eat over the forcefulness of my read on this. But sadly, I don't think I'm wrong.

I’m more than willing to bet that her story is mostly narrative, maybe she’ll fight some bandits or some hooligans outside of the bakery (using Baker’s Daughter as her weapon), but she’ll see Sophitia injured after the events of SoulBlade, see her go off on a journey again, go give Hephaestus a good talking to, then when Sophitia comes home again, she’ll take Omega Sword/Elk Shield for herself (or they’ll retcon it and have Hephaestus make Digamma Sword/Nemea Shield for her right here), and set out to Ostrheinsburg to go fight Nightmare, maybe fighting a malfested or six along the way. That’s about it.

I have no doubts that we will get at least one more stage, to even out the screen’s symmetry. I just don’t think it will be right now. Mayyyyyybe it could be a tideover gift between Cassandra and season two, but likely would be in season two itself, where they may be between 0 and 2 more stages afterward.

The truth is even crazier than that. Cassandra is the first character to not have jiggling boobs controlled by a physics system. Why? Because all of her boob jiggle is animated by hand frame by frame. This is actually why she skipped SC5. They've been working on the jiggle animations that long.

Damn , this sounds promising !
After 11 years, she needs to back with at least 450 differents moves and 15 critical edge.

If Cassandra arrived this month/week EVO would be a bunch of mirror match
