Voldo Character Matchups Thread

Balanced you really like B+K ill be sure to try it though I hardly ever use it'

Karama i do!, its an odd move and knocks them back a hell of alot even if they block, sometimes i hit them with the first... then hit A+K again which they usually block and it pushes my opponent well away from me. Great if mitsu is mixing up well. Just make sure to time them well, dont mash them, move timing/spacing is awsome with this move.

Use A+B aswell and start a nice combo and dont forget 66B (just) Props to Manta for showing me the importance of this move. Still cant get it out every time buy hey ho practice practice practice... :D
 
Ya every single time I get on I practive 6:6B im starting to get it better maybe 50% of the time now havent really tried it in online play
 
Who would you say are the worst matchups for V

I personally have hardships beating a Siegfried and the occasional Talim with Voldo.
Still, spam/cheapy kiliks give me trouble aswell, while they are a pushover when i played with asty jumping over 90% they threw at me lol. Last time i faced a spammy kilik i couldnt beat him for the love of it. :/

Ivy is giving me hell atm, anybody got any advice on closing her down.
 
Okay I want to say I'm a pretty good voldo player, not sure if that is true or not but I can go between stances pretty well. Anyway to get on topic.
I'm having trouble fighting these 3 characters: Mitsurugi, Kilik, and Ivy's

Oh and another thing, I don't own the game but my friend does so if you add me, again I do not own it but will accept invites.
For Mitsu: most of the Mitsu's I see online spam some move (as you can tell I'm not very good at the 4k and 3b stuff, I understand the b and k and whatnot)

for Kilik's: again most spam 2-3 moves: stab barrage, verticle whack, and horizontle(sp?) swipe, and voldo's phreaky dance doesn't do much

For Ivy's: Okay it seems that EVERY Ivy I meet is like a pro and will just link attacks one after another after another. I don't know if any tips will help but I can never beat them.

right now im having significant trouble with kilik. "good" kilik that is. his asura an WR B setups r eating me alive.
 
I can do well against most other players but Taki gives me the most grief. Any tips on how to defeat her? My major problem with taki is the constant attacks and the stuns and how just damn quick she is.
 
quik lows, such as CR B an BS 1 B, and sidestep left. u can dodge most of her attacks by stepping tht way.
 
Block low on reaction/instinct

A+B is useful, use alot... & when you hit with this PUNISH.

1A is useful for a taki that rushes in... also CR B as ando suggests, once you have invaded her space again PUNISH with mixups in BS.
 
Hmmm....some exps from my recently againest Taki

Try to start duck the second hit of 1BA .
Becareful if that Taki is a seasoned player, Voldo's 6BB , 1K both -10 on block which can be punished by her AA(or AB even JF A:6)
when Taki doing P0 236 mixup, push back or step forward and punish her.
Block Taki's 3KK >Windroll mixup , 2A beat her every options. If you get hit by 3kk in the first place don't do anything but block.(CH WR BBB really hurt-___-)
Using TC move might help if she doing lots of high moves rush. A+B ,3B,1K, 4K,CRB, 66A+B_K, ......etc.
And last ~~don't be afraid facing Taki, she can't do as much damages as Voldo does XD .Voldo is a truly beast XD
 
4A+K, 1B, and A+B really shut down Taki's options. She doesn't have a lot of range, a lot of her moves are high, you can evade or TC and punish. Most Taki players I know consider Voldo to be one of their hardest matchups, because there's so many moves that you can shut down with just 1B alone.

I've played a lot of matchups with Voldo and by far the hardest for me at this point in time are Ivy and Kilik. Ivy's 214B will step or crouch so many of Voldo's options, she can throw it out at frame disadvantage and have an 80% chance of beating whatever move you were doing. Kilik, as you mentioned, has Asura and WS B which are hard to deal with.

You really have to play smarter against those two characters in particular.

is 214B the only reason Ivy gives you trouble? Any "good" kilik that knows how to apply Asura and WS mixups gives me trouble

yeah i even try 22_88 A yet she still interupts most of the time. u really have to b patient with tht move an jus stay away or block bc she has some really good moves out of tht stance.

Anticipate or bait them into 214B, block it then punish them with 66B or 6:6B that'll stop that crap real fast.
