Z.W.E.I. Patch/Wishlist

My god this thread has turned to shit. Point 1: Z.W.E.I. sucks and is absolute ass tier. Who is using him and how well they use him will never EVER change this point. Tiers exist on the basis that two people of the EXACT SAME skill level are playing against each other. ZWEI is at the bottom thanks to his crap move list. Point 2: This does not mean that there are absolutely no good ZWEI players. Look at what happened when someone won a tournie with Zas in 4. People started assuming Zas was mid tier even though he was crap. Point 3: If you believe that ZWEI doesn't need buffs then you really really need to do some more research into your character. No lows, no good launchers, shitty frames (inb4 the I have frames after EIN +1 or 2 is not good enough so gf), as well as a massive dependance on meter to get decent damage says otherwise.

are yall kidding me your character is so good. man i dont know what the hell yall doin but its obviously the wrong thing yall either need to find another character to be ass with or get good either one helps the boards more than this bs im reading. No dont go be ass cause my friend is ass and he is actually good with him way better than any of you cause he doing stuff yall aint even got listed on here im so upset yall are arguing about a character with unblockables has the best punishment game the best guard burst game and yall want buffs yall sicken me you old no beard having punks. Yall need to do like the other people who are on here and go to the orb or cervantes cause yall are wasting your time playing a character you cant even grasp or understand yall are pathetic. I've seen what this character can do and he is nothing less than amazing, but what do i know im just a guy right? Play my boy and get bodied so yall can see a real zwei. You lack no imagination its like fighting a rock.

While I have to admit I see what Dr. Dogg is talking about. Zwei is a decent character when properly used, however proper use is more difficult than almost any other character in the game. That said he is by no means overpowred as the poster above me would suggest. I plan on cleaning up all this useless argument and maybe making a thread for all of this. Because frankly this is ridiculous.
Also while it's worth noting that I have begun taking other characters seriously this doesn't stop me from doing my position as moderator. The only thing keeping me off the forums recently is a cross-country move I'm getting prepared for. =\
 
i feel like zwei is a great character with a nice mix-up game and while his punishment options are lacking his damage is relatively high. I think people are just playing him with the wrong mindset and that you all should give the character time to grow before asking for buffs and such. it makes little since to buff something so new and not know what he is capable of at the moment. so my advise would be to just stop the complaining and let him grow naturally and see where he goes from there .

Actually, this is incorrect.

Tiers are based on the HIGHEST level of play, and nothing else. If two scrubs of the "exact same" skill level are playing, tiers mean nothing.

I will say that the information on this forum on ZWEI would indicate he's not good. But that's mainly because the good ZWEI players don't bother coming here. Although the same can be said for most of the other character forums. People are holding strats for Final Round... and maybe even until Evo.

Here's what we get:

- 3A gives more hit stun.
- B+K reach increased
- 33B BE does 8 more damage

And thats it. the 3A and B+K improvements are kinda of nice I guess, but none of Zwei's real issues were really addressed at all. I guess this just means Namco hates Zwei..... and Maxi, but don't even get me started on that.
 
B+k range will be better after 4B
Unfortunately, most of us already use 1B](max hold ) K after 4B. it's just better overall
I cant see how 3A will help us but we will see.

33B BE get 8 more damage on the last hit. I dont know if the damage reduction applies on this case, cause it's an air combo but they are attacks from the same move
 
wow could not be more disappointed and disgusted by these changes no one even uses 33B BE and a little dmg buff won't change that. I haven't ever had a problem with B+Ks range what is this shit, do they have no idea how this character works in the first place. How could they not change a single one of his actual problems, looks like we're staying in bottom tier FUCK.

but not one of these were touched, i quit the developers obviously don't care about the only character i like in this game..
 
Not trying to start an argument but maybe they gave him minor buffs because they believe there is more to Z.W.E.I than we think. Or they are scared to seriously buff him because he is one of those characters that could easily turn OP. Either way I expected them to do a little more than this.

Yea they are definitely worried about that, thats why they decided buff a confusing character like Viola heavily....just lol.

No, they barely gave him anything because the scrubs didn't complain enough. This patch does not seem like it was made to improve the competitive balance of the game at the tourney level. It seems to be mostly a patch to balance out the button mashing skill level. Zwei sort of got a buff in that other characters got raped, so the difference in the crappiness of Zwei vs. others might not be as high.
 
I never though ZWEI was that bad. Just be happy that he got zero nerfs. Leixia and Natsu being less common is probably the best buff ZWEI received.

I agree, I'm hoping that the nerfs to other characters will make ZWEI less bad in comparison. Also I'm curious as to how far the range of B+K has been increased, and if that counts for backturned B+K as well. I would love if 66B+K was made safer by the increased range of backturned B+K, but that's probably too much to wish for.
