Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

On what metric are we determining if characters are in a "playable" state or not? Whether PS has devoted resources into making an updated build with them?

That sounds stupid.
Yeah, a character is considered playable when we see someone play them. Does that sound stupid? Would you like to suggest a different definition?

You are the expert on stupid so I'll defer to you.

But for everyone else, most reveal trailers show a few things. A super a few strings and a throw. They couldn't even do that with Geralt. Instead you have half a throw carefully edited and a weird slow motion crouch taking up a huge chunk of time. That doesn't speak of a character that is anywhere near a complete playable state.

I have no expectations for reveals or a new build this month. It would be great if it happens, but I won't waste my energy hoping for it. I feel much happier concentrating on other things and just dropping in from time to time to check for any news.
A new build I can understand, but not expecting any reveals? I mean, so far we've been getting reveals for each month. Yeah...Geralt was the only reveal for last month, but a reveal nonetheless.

I'm more than certain that the developers are able to play a whole bunch of characters inside of the game's development tools. What YOU see means nothing.

If I don't get my hopes up then I won't be disappointed. We don't have a clue what they are doing in terms of reveals, they could easily put off a month or at the very extreme: delay the game. Having no expectations either way won't make time feel like it's going at a snails pace for me, so I won't expect anything and just see how things progress.

Beats randomly deciding that they're going to do three reveals and make a new demo build tomorrow for no reason.

I do wonder about that bad working conditions tweet since it was devoid of context. That sounded like a description of when the game was in development hell (Just having endless meetings where nothing gets done because nothing can be done is not what's happening during a crunch time) before Okubo offered to helm the project. It's certainly not reflective of the current product we're being shown.

I expect nothing for tomorrow, and either for this weekend event. But i expect news for next thursday though, when it will be a month since Geralt reveal.

Y'all expecting anything tomorrow?
This week or next week I'd expect a few character trailers again. Seems about the right timing to space things out. I've always viewed PAX East as a decent milestone event in the schedule to attach news to and bridge the gap between Evo Japan and E3, but I don't think Namco shares that opinion. Definitely no reveals at the show or they would have advertised it. Or sent literally anyone noteworthy in the company to Boston.

But game play wise the event will be good for a more general audience to get their hands on the game for the first time. Everything before now has been press or the fighting game community. Won't do much for us but good for the masses.

I expect nothing either... Maybe one of those character videos where Okubo talks about the character for like a minute
