[BD] Rock

IdleMind shoud be able to inform about the technicality's. You may even be right in that it resets it because I believe he said something about tech traps that should be crazy now. Also I believe his A ground throw flings u straight into the wall now at a respectable wall distance. Not sure if it did that before.

The way I found out was similiar to Zyeoo in that the computer kept catching me and I was like why the hell am I loosing so much damage only to tell IdleMind I don't think it scales and he tested and sure enough that was the case lol. Epic beatdown by computer.

His A ground throw from feet never could cause wall splat. If that is the case, it makes Rock's A throw slightly weaker (not a big deal given how strong it is). Now if you're referring to the head A ground throw from head wall splatting easier, that would be a welcome trade-off for the 5 less damage he gets from it. It would actually MAKE SENSE (wow, I am regaining respect for project soul).
 
No way. If 3A+G gives a wallsplat AND resets or ignores scaling, then that would combine with his buffed back throw for very good damage. I would be quite happy with that.

If it's 1A+G to wallsplat that would be good as well. 3A+G into B+K ground stun next to the wall would be a VERY messy situation, with 1B+G (and then 22B/techtrap/3A+G -- NOT SCALED! mixups) or the wallsplat into backthrow for nice damage again.

Both would be very, very nice.

SC3: AE came close

And 1A+G wall splat is the reason I think they toned down the damage. After a wall splat, you don't get a crouch/back throw. Instead, they lie head first in front of you, which means another head butt. I can imagine 1A+G madness right now.
 
You sure you don't get the back throw? :x

I guess a normal wallsplat would be alright. We should see if there have been any real changes to 1K, GT, because that would be a nice setup.

Just to add abit

1K:Ground grab: Yes, it actually works now. Lol. In console, when ur opponent tech, ground grab will jus whiff and you get free punish. But now if ur opponent techs, the ground grab will hit but off axis (no dmg), i haven't tested crouch grab to catch techers.


3A+B or 1B+G: 22B doesn't combo after that anymore. Either that or i'm too slow.

Command throw does very little damage compared to last time. Sad..

214AAA still the same.

2A+K is a strange change. One of the few places to get consistent head toward. But if the feet toward stuff has been buffed then that's not so bad.

Loss of 22B combo sucks. It was nice to know you could just get the damage now and then when you needed it. Hopefully something else will replace it. Still, 3A+B, B+K mixups are very strong.
 
According to LAU, 2A+K is still head towards.

Maybe my eyes were abit tired yesterday. Lol. So let's take his word that it didn't change. But the rest should be confirmed. 1K to ground grab is rather inconsistent though.. but good to know that it works.
 
How bad is the off axis stuff now anyway?

And if they're sleeping can you get 1K, GT without them teching in between? That's really its only use: surprise RO when they're too stunned to get up.

As a former Rock mainer in the past, I must say that Rock was extremely solid in Soul Edge, Top 10 material in SC1 and mid tier in SC3:AE so...cut Rock some slack.

As a former Rock mainer in the past, I must say that Rock was extremely solid in Soul Edge, Top 10 material in SC1 and mid tier in SC3:AE so...cut Rock some slack.

LOL! As Draco, Blaze and others can attest I was really active on Rock in 1.01 so it isn't like I abandoned him a long time ago. I just didn't liked/approved what Namco did to him in 1.03 so I left.

Setsuka will always be my main but I still have a big soft spot for Rock among others so I'm back and extremely happy to hear that he's been beefed up to the point of surpassing Astaroth for the first time. That really hypes me up for Rock action again.

And hey, it seems those feedbacks we sent to Project Soul paid off. I sent myself a huge essay about Rock's weaknesses and some illogical things of Rock vs. Astaroth and seems they listened to some of it as it was chosen to be potentially in the final showing in the survey.
 
everythign i wanna mentioned seems to be mentioned....

i just wish the 1K stuff is more consistent.... despite the fact damage is buffed... (because of scaling i suppose)

B+K after 2B+G seems very consistent -> HT GT...

also 8B (only) -> CT is a tech trap now... that's something good to know...

i've also started using 22A... i dunno but it seems to have slightly better range.. but i can't verify...

i haven't bother checking the frames for stuff especially 6K (wanna see if this got improved)

I feel that despite more places to put in some serious damage... i still feel rock is still lacking a really good horizontal mid...

2B+K is 40 and unshakeable
after 1B+G, 3B+G is 65 dmg and 3A+G is 30

Nothing against you, but are you SURE that 2B+K is unshakeable. That alone would make Rock High Tier, and with the changes already stated, TOP Tier (Wow, did I just say Rock is Top Tier?).
