then you haven't played DOA Dimensions. she was super broken in that game. I mean, she's a BOSS character. Boss characters tend to always be broken or OP in one way or another.

Why they put her?
Because of the story ?She was not defeated at the end of dead or alive 4....I think it is a good idea and that they still have some good surprises for us..

Also, is Pai in the game or not? Her data was found on the demo disc, but the recently leaked achievements do not mention her. Unless that just means Pai is already unlocked from the start.

Oh yeah. If you hadn't reminded me, I would've forgot that I play fighting games for the story.

Anyway, Alpha will probably be banned from competitive play (and hopefully Online Ranked match too) due to being OP and more over the fact that it sounds like it's going to be a pain in the ass to unlock her anyway. BY THE WAY HAVING TO MANUALLY UNLOCK CHARS IS A TERRIBLE TERRIBLE IDEA FOR ANY FIGHTING GAME THAT HOPES TO BE TOURNAMENT VIABLE. -_- Really getting sick of this trend. Companies mindlessly force you to unlock things on a disc you already paid $60 without thinking about the fact that this whole unlocking fad that the entire industry has moved to does more harm than good.

you don't have to put a character as playable in the game just because you see them in story mode. if that was the case then there'd be several more characters that should be playable. Like Donovan and Zack's girlfriend for instance. Tengu was more of a joke character that wasn't taken seriously. he was easy to beat anyway for his lack of movelist. Alpha wasn't put in DOA4 specifically because she was a boss character. don't know why team ninja changed their mind. there was a lot of silly mechanics in DOA Dimensions besides the silly added characters. I feel like it was more of a testing game.

but i highly doubt characters are put in a game because they are in the story. that's not a logical explanation.

As a consumer i MUCH prefer unlocking characters to paying for characters as DLC, especially when they just disc locked them and resell them later. This method is a far better practice than DLC.

As a competitive player i think it's a toss up. On the one hand it makes running tournaments more difficult due to unlocking the characters where as DLC would be quicker. Yet DLC also limits the people who dont have online access or people who simply cant afford to be paying more money for a game they already purchased.
