Do fans care more about CAS than the original SC cast?

About the Max video:

The thing that will make a character memorable and compelling is two things:

1: A great / unique character design.

2: A good background story, involving friends and rivals integrated to the story.

^ Once those two things are achieved it's hard to leave or forget the character from the main story.. >:]

LOL!!!! That explains a lot then! I forgot my elder sister bought a modded Xbox original off Ebay and we played ripped games like Jet Set Radio Future all the time and SoulCalibur 3, I remember playing that game for hours in Chronicles of the Sword.

I thought I may put this thread up since I was inspired by a certain forum member.

However, the main reason I've asked is because from my last experience in online battles, I commonly see random ppl using their CAS and very rare do I see an original.

I begin to ponder as of late on how Namco has portrayed their SC cast. To me they weren't so strongly represented in a way to make the player feel more connected with the character and I guess it's due to weak story telling and story construction or the lack of them.

To answer the topic question, I believe that many SC fans of this generation buy SC because of CAS; they give little or no care for the original cast.

So what are your thoughts? Do you think the majority of fans this generation only care for CAS more than they do about the original cast? Do you buy SC mainly because of CAS? Would you continue to buy SC w/o CAS?

People likes customization thats all.

I play with CAS and original by equal. Original are cool but one ends getting attached to his CAS as if they were original, cause you think in them as characters.

Since I am a big fan of character creation in games (especially in fighting games), I can't lie and say I don't care for character creation. I like making my own characters and working out little stories.

With that said, even though I'm into CAS, I still care about the original cast and use them from time to time. But in SCV, I do find I use my own characters instead of the originals 4/5 times. The only main characters I use a lot in V are Viola, Zwei, Ivy, Natsu, and Pyrrha (even if her battle cries irritate me lol).

But one thing is for sure, It does sound like CAS is staying with SC for a good long time. It attracted more fans. For better or for worse, money is money and it's not like they threw away the original cast so they will always be there if you prefer to use them. :)

Now if they did get rid of CAS, I'd still play the games. My first SC game was SCII and I had fun without it. CAS just added a lot more replay value to me, that's all.

If you're referring to the original characters like Taki, Old School Kilik, Mina, Talim, and everyone else, fair enough. But I meant in general that even though their newcomers aren't the most fleshed out, they still have them there along with the CAS characters.
