I went ranger and assassin till about lvl 175 and I still did retarded damage. Lol
I was Mage into Sorcerer, so guess how I was doing. lol.
It also works amazingly for Magick Archer which is my favorite class.

Using a physical class isn't bad in this game. You always need a good fighter. I was a ranger for a while. Ranger also has the highest ranged DPS. Assassin kills bosses the quickest and is extremely versatile. Only bad class in the game is the Warrior. The only problem to being physical only is Phantoms (and their kin). They're immune to physical damage. You could always carry an enchanted sword/dagger with you. That was the only issue I've come across when I did my solo playthough (without pawns at all) as an Assassin. So it kinda sounds like you have to go MK or MA? Unless you like eating shovelfulls of pain. Is that right? I did some sniffing around and it seems like everyone thinks physical damage chars are underpowered. And since I can't have my pawn take a hybrid class I guess I have to, which seems a might disappointing.
Funniest part of it was when I nearly died because of a Phantasm that latched on me. Had to find a way to kill it since there were no pawns to knock it off me. I hit a gun powder barrel for the first one and had enemies beat me up to get rid of the second.
You keep all skills you can also use those skills in other classes given taht class can use the weapon required. Only execption is class specific skills (Ex. Fighter's "Dragon's Maw", MK's "Great Cannon" Assassin's "Dire Gouge") One of the main reasons people switch classes is to get the augments from each that you'll need. Also, thanks for the reward. :PI think that gunpowder trick wins you the "Guts from Berserk award". Sounds like something he'd do. Question, so when you dual class you keep your old stats... Do you keep skills? Like if I go fighter to lvl 10 then go Mystic Knight do I retain the shield beating ability?
Also awesome Faye avatar solo. Wish they'd do a sequel, I miss those characters, not least of all Faye.

Edit: I have many Faye faces I switch between. xD
The level you switch only matters if you care about have the absolute best stats. Also, fighters make better tanks than MKs. They have buffs that allow them to soak up more damage. MK can heal themselves though. Just switch whenever you want. It doesn't matter unless you're planning to become a Ur Hunter. Thanks for the info, solo. I might just roll fighter even if it doesn't make for the most Op mystic knight to get those sweet tanking abilities. I hear rangers make good mk's too though so if you guys could answer a question, how should one go about all this class switching? I've heard that the level you do it matters a lot.

UR Hunter?
Some people play just to kill each generation of the Ur. I do it to an extent.Dragon's Dogma Wiki said:The Ur-Dragon encounter in Dragon's Dogma takes two forms, a static offline battle, and an asynchronous online encounter, where players and their parties from around the world to compete online to take down the Ur-Dragon. The effect and damage done by each of these parties is combined until the creature is defeated. Defeating the Ur-Dragon online requires multiple encounters, but all players who inflict damage on the Ur-Dragon can receive rewards. The Arisen which inflicts the final blow will receive the greatest reward of all, and all slayers of the Ur-Dragon have their names and play times recorded in the hall of fame. Offline players will still be able to take on the Ur-Dragon alone, but receive different rewards. The Ur-Dragon is essentially an optional end-game boss, located Beyond the Rift.

Sure thing. Also, I have plenty of spare weapons I don't even touch. I'd be happy to outfit your pawn. I'll give you some decent mid level gear given I'm not going to go and farm the rare stuff for you. Lol.Looking at the rewards I am thinking about it. But the planning is challenging. Btw can I add you on LIVE solo? I'd love to see what youve done with your pawn. I hate to be a bum but I could really use some better weapons too.

I'll even trade you the armor you get from the Ur if you can get me a "Blessed Flower". I'm too lazy to play through the game again to get that flower. Lol
Edit: I'll also trade you a Ur set for an item called "Dragon Band". I don't feel like farming for it nor playing through again for the static drop place.
I dont have nothing to do..so i just sticked with some peeps from gamefaqs to get a few things from him. Some people play just to kill each generation of the Ur. I do it to an extent.
So my online experienceso far has been mostly positive. Lvl 40 now, playing a sorc in anticipation of going Mystic Knight. Though I'm not rolling him like some people, I figured if I was going to play a sorc for 200 levels I might as well play a sorc, nope he's a bit more balanced out with some assassin levels under his belt and I'm happy for it because that extra stamina is much appreciated when I'm leven bombing a drake continuously.
Some random person gave me a ring, a stylish crimson DLC shirt and the best weps in the game for my pawn, all dragon forged. Nice guy but ever since nobody is renting my pawn. Could it be because the last person who rented her bombed her with one's? Dunno why they did that but what an ass :/. Jealousy? Just griefing? Her ratings are sill pretty good but still, no rentals since then. -_- She's a ranger and her names Fiona, be sure to wave to her in the nexus :D.
She jumped on said drake, on my second hunt, this time with the snazzy new daggers, started tearing its heart out so quickly. What a thing of beauty. I suck at this point, at least against something like the drake, could only cheer her on, lol. I can definitely see the agument for going all magic, but then again on certain foes like archers its nice to be able to run up on them. It's kind of nice how the vocation system makes you try out all the classes a while as you collect augments, let's you know what you really enjoy best. That said multiple character slots are sorely sorely lacking. I have enjoyed playing a sorc more than I though I would and I can only wonder what crazy dps my assassin could have gotten up to. I don't want to erase my game and loot to find out. Btw does anyone have a marshall's bracers shirt? I only want one to try and make a stylish outfit with it.
Dont worry im gonna rent your char and make a good run, if ya want ;)
Im in the modd to play the game again(i think its my 6th run this time), somehow it never gets boring lol
^Thanks for renting my pawn. xD
