1) Nobody notified about SCV play-offs. You didnt happen to stumble across streaming consoles in the corner of ballroom - you missed it. But hey, you could watch JW raping newbs in SF on 3 huge screens at the same time.

3) Eventually, you could only watch SCV playoff online. Nvm the fact a huge plasma panel next to us doubled what other two were showing (hint: SF). The big plasma could be seen from basically anywhere in the room. Why would they copy content on two others is beyond me.

4) The finals were stupid. Why SCV was put 1st in line? Why ppl who came over cared about anything but game? I was trying to watch the game, but all around me ppl were eating, littering, buying shirts etc. Disgusting. Eventually, I moved to the center where singapore and Japan were getting hype. And I think that's all who were hype about finals.

Overall, EVO staff didnt seem to care about SCV and I dont get why did they even decided to have it at all, with an attitude like this.

1) True. You would have to be lucky enough to be within the SC5 area for them to say where the stream station was.

2) True. It's the same issue as Final Round, SC station right next to the loud Main Stage speakers. Very annoying.

3) True. At MLG, there is a gigantic main stage for Stracraft 2, but there is also a big stage for Fighting Games to the left of it, along with a pretty good spectator area.

4) True, and this is what made me the most upset. Why couldn't they AT LEAST put SFxT first? It could have even made sense, "Open with a Capcom game, close with a Capcom game." It's obvious from all these events I go to, the FGC can care less about other games besides Capcom games. E-Sports > FGC
 
ya i think the problem is evidently clear when you look at the name of the parent company of evolution, shoryuken, how biased is that? i think the namco community needs to band together to hold its own major tourney and invite capcom players to play, but put a priority on our own, why doesnt 8wayrun.com and tekkenzaibatsu and virtuafighter.com band together to host a major 3d tourney and invite 2ders, as opposed to the other way around?
 
Why would priority goto a game with only 500 sign ups? SF and Marvel had like 3000 together total. obviously priority is going to goto the money makers, Dont get it twisted they are in this to make money! They'd much rather piss off Namco than Capcom. LOL

Because we're not millionaires like the Cannons. Also, its hard to compete with the existing Goliath.
 
I also have a severe issue with the fact that they tripled the Soul Calibur 5 prize pot, but didn't tell anyone about it.

Almost as if they didn't want people to show up for Evo.. OH WAIT.
 
If you follow the 70/18/6/5way on the website. Yeah it's $15,000.

If you follow the conservative split of 50/30/10/5way.. Then it's $10,000..

Still, it's a huge increase in the pot size and nobody mentioned it.. So yeah.
 
Actually I remember hearing Mateo mentioning the prize money and everyone telling him no.

I thought DEV was pretty cool in the way it treated soul calibur last year. Sure SCIV wasn't the main attraction but we did get to have matches streamed that weren't finals and they evem showed the matches on the big screen.

Oh man EVO was fun as hell. My first EVO ever.

It was good meeting a lot of you guys for the first time, and seeing everyone i already know again.

Shoutouts to making it out of my pool and than getting bodied by Shen Ou in a mirror match. Awesome.

Hope the game doesn't go away by the next EVO even though i feel it may. Sucks. I'll try and see how many other events i can go too by the years end.
 
Uhh, 15000?!? I could of sworn it was some small number like 500$ to first place or something.

Thing that upsets me the most was 2/3 all the way until GF, while marvel gets 3/5 well before GF. Come on.

Other than that, SC players made Evo for me. Hope to see you guys next year for casuals.

I wasn't happy with SCV being 2/3 all the way to grand finals, but nobody made any fuss about the format beforehand. 2/3 did make for alot of salty people though, which I hope people turn that salt into motivation to run it back.

I'm very disappointed with SCV being aired at 10AM when SFxT, a game that no one wants to watch, could have went first.

Other than that, great times.

Yeah, what's so special about that broken, overhyped, unbalanced game. Wait a minute it has gems which are banned because the game has no depth, it holds players hands to much. Anyone using AutoBlock, AutoTech, Ultimate Defense, Super Easy Input, and No Chip Damage are scrubs thinking their legit. That is a slap in the face to really good fighting game players who want to play legit. No wonder the FGC hates that game with a passion. Imagine if Soul Calibur had gems. It would ruin the game more than SCIV Hilde. Patsuka becomes very very easy to use and he's no longer unique. The tough JFs become automatic easy to do. Thank God Soul Calibur will never stoop low like Crapcom did by ditching the FGC.
 
Well I made EVO worth 10k and updated the ranks... Do you guys think I should do the same for the world finals?

Just want to ask...does anyone else have like super stupid cold-flu symptoms going on? Have the worst headache/bodyaches going on, seriously stayed up shitting all night, runny nose, sore throats, and so on and so fourth. Trying to figure out if it was possibly something I ate or what...

Dehydration. Get some Pedialyte dude, knock back a few of those.

My dad, he's retired Air Force, CCT. He learned the trick from paramedics, Pedialyte gets you up and running in the field. It also works for when the guys go out drinking and come back hungover...

Pedialyte is like when they put the saline IV in you when you go to the hospital, it'll get you back to normal faster than just drinking regular water.

It's pretty easy to get dehydrated in Vegas (used to live there 8 years ago). EVO especially, I remember my throat being dry most of the time- it's hard to carry around enough water, and if you keep yourself hydrated properly you're going to the bathroom all of the time.

So yeah, buy a few bottles, they're usually in the baby aisle. I like strawberry flavor, they got grape, orange, you can buy the freeze pops if you like or the little bottles, just chug a bunch of that stuff, it'll get you hydrated, you'll feel better.

You should be good when you start noticing that your urine is clear. If you can keep it like that for a couple of days, you should be A-OK. The darker/yellower it is, the more you need to hydrate yourself.

interesting. I myself am fine ... but king salmon apparently has pneumonia right now.. and he was also in our room when there were like 30 people on fri and sat.


might wanna get it checked out ...
 
Yeah Hussler from canada is feeling like shit to!

I dunno, every summer i get a "summer cold" that fucks my world up. I always thought it was that west coast weather.
