If there was a Soul Calibur VI, prequel/sequel/reboot/retcon?

That could be the perfect setup for Soul Calibur X Tekken. I can see that now
Actually I'm being serious, the "lore" on Yoshimitsu actually looks like maybe the Soul Calibur series might be some type of prequel to Tekken. Also, Z.W.E.I. is somewhat similar to Tekken Tag's boss Unknown as they both have a werewolf spirit that fights with them.

Hmmm.....

Damp and Devil jin share a pair of moves I believe.......

Dampierre= Italian Mishima?

The time skip screwed the series, just like Tekken. Being that Sophitia's children turned out completely lame and idiotic, the justification for doing so fell flat on its face.

No one wants to see replacements of classic characters.

They should just make a Soul Calibur tag game without any story or required logic so the older characters, all the way back to Soul Edge, can be seen again.

What are you talking about!?

As much as I love Tekken 2, Tekken 3 was the best thing that happened to the Tekken series....in terms of EVERYTHING!

I think the only characters I could see not being replaced are Siegfried, Cervantes, and, iconic bull aside, Mitsurugi.

Nightmare doesn't count as being "replaced" or not, because many people can become "Nightmare".

Astaroth, especially, could have been EASILY replaced, but what saved him was Maxi's appearance, and with Maxi not being able to age, I'm sure Astaroth will NEVER be replaced in future installments. Ivy will never be replaced either since not only is she scantily clad. She's highly intelligent and she's asexual (I assume), so that means no kids for her.
Everyone else......
Taki=Pretty obvious she was going to be replaced. However, Natsu just needs moves that she can call her own, besides teleporting. She has her own personality though. Leixia is the same situation as Natsu.
Seigfried is a staple character who is a necessity for the story, him and nightmare must cooexist like Goku and Vegeta. His role may change but cant be scrapped.

Maxi is useless, Astaroth needs a new rival or evemy. Maybe Natsu could be his enemy.
Ivy needs to go back to being evil or at least sadistic. Her being good and wise is boring for her character.

Cassandra is valid to be because of her personality alone, she actually has potential to be 3Dimentional as seen in SC4, she experiences, Pride, Sadness, Anger and Passion. Patroklos looks cool but is a terrible protagonist as his development is just like a coin toss to what he should feel that day.

Natsu has potential of being memorable, I mean Kate Higgins has a sexy voice for one, and 2, she has personality. Its just not explained why she's so arrogant with everything she says.

Leixia needs more personality then "Ooohh pretty colors! Hi birdies!". She is just annoying and 1Dimentional.

Ivy needs to go back to being evil or at least sadistic. Her being good and wise is boring for her character.
Ivy is more of "neutral" character with the most wisdom in the cast, like Zasalamel.

She has her own motives, and her motives don't contrive on "destroying" the world, unlike her father. At least since SC2, she has been focused on destroying Soul Edge.

Her personality is sadistic, but I figured within age, she has gotten more mature.

Maxi is useless, Astaroth needs a new rival or evemy. Maybe Natsu could be his enemy.

I was actually leaning towards another character to be Natsu's rival later in the series. Not saying whom.

But Astaroth being a rival for people are getting pretty repetitive as well. At least with Maxi, he has something else to lean towards, which is the young group. All Astaroth has become is a punching bag. Hence his appearance in story mode, and the fact that Astaroths were being created, twice. Obviously for fan service reasons.

I can already see it now: Siegfried and Hilde walking around with grenade launchers, Kilik, Xianghua, and Maxi with machine guns blasting and to top it off, Talim trying to maneuver a wind-powered tank.
I would so main Talim riding around in a tank with sails if they did a SC war simulator crossover.

I love this idea lol.

Fuck yea! Just the thought of Siegfriend and Hilde blowing crap up makes me wanna get this imaginary game already! But what kinda weapon would Voldo have...

Voldo would probably have a rocket launcher attached to his body, since he's blind and him using a machine gun wouldn't make sense.

I believe Odashima said that Soul Calibur VI would definitely be a continuation of what was established here. The series would retain a rolling storyline.

Eh I personally am getting tired of the whole Maxi vs Astaroth feud. That has been going on for so long that it's just boring and repetitive now. I would hope they find a new purpose for Astaroth and Maxi (especially since I was hoping that they would replace him). But thats just me.
Yeah, a feud isn't all that great if it keeps going and going with no progression. Look at how Scorpion and Sub-Zero's feud progresses in the MK series.

The whole Maxi vs. Astaroth feud ran its course. Maxi, unfortunately, has a new purpose playing the role of babysitter to Taki's student and Kilik and Xianghua's children. Astaroth on the other hand is reduced to being a soon to be thrown away character since that story arc between him and Maxi is done unless they bring in someone to feud with this new Astaroth.

Good point.

Yeah, I know that Maxi has to play babysitter so I guess he won't be going anywhere (*sigh* lol). And yeah, Astaroth just needs to have a new purpose. Even if they found a new rival for him, it would just loop itself like it did with him and Maxi. I just don't see a big purpose for keeping him anymore other then fanservice reasons.

SCV is Soul Calibur : Tabula Rasa.
They didn't bother improving the character graphics, they cleaned up the move lists to make the next game's transition smoother, and they restarted the story which they will seriously expand on in the following games.

There's no way they are going back in the past, at least not for another 10 years. They're going forward.
And there's no way they are rebooting the series, because that's exactly what they did with SCV.

It's an incomplete game, and the sooner it's buried way way down and shadowed by SCVI, the better.
