I couldn't believe they showed a black and white sketch like this officially. It's like a fanart or something.
 
first of all, yeah, concept sketch... and EARLY concept sketch at that.

Secondly, all young girls like getting their hair done!

Third, I think she looks okay, as long as they don't make her moveset totally goofy (in the crying way).

I've seen people say this before.. what does that even mean? "I hope they / I wish they looked more badass...." What? Why? Huh? She's a 15 year old little girl, how bad ass could she POSSIBLY be?!

Well considering she is 15 and she has a cute appearance.. my first impression on her is that she will stay that way. But what I meant is that I hope they make her more impressive. Kind of of like how a lot of people though Natsu was playful and silly because of her artwork but got a different perspective from the trailer and other gameplay of her. Many would say "more badass" lol.
 
She does have Killiks little keep me from turning evil gadget around her neck... Altho I thought he kind of needed that ><
 
I read this as an almost premature reveal for two reasons:

1) They didn’t have any fundamentally new material they wanted to reveal for EVO, and

2) Daishi and Harada knew Kayane was going to be there and wanted to do something nice about it.

From that perspective, I’m happy to remain patient and see what the character actually brings, considering that this really is a very early concept sketch. Heck, we don’t even seem to have her real name down yet! Let alone her voice, personality, father, mission, fighting style, etc...

Oh and FWIW I (and a lot of other people) totally called this as soon as they started talking about SCV as a “generational” game. A Kilik X Xianghua pairing was just too obvious (not that Kilik is the confirmed father yet).

Next kid? BANGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's the same as saying they hope she'll be 20% cooler in game than in a sketch.

Anyway... I like the art and I'm curious to see how Leihua'll succeed Xianghua's fighting style. Given that she might be the daughter of Kilik as well, I wonder if she'll take some moves from him. Since Xianghua's been something of a main for me since the original Soul Calibur I'm very much looking forward to how she'll play. I hope she doesn't have SXS, though. I wasn't particularly fond of that stance partly because it's not clearly obvious what it does for a beginner player and there's very little sight/sound indication to indicate what level SXS Xianghua was in, not to mention that I don't think people used a whole of SXS' moves. To be a bit more blunt, it seemed like SXS was just a rush job and to cover up the fact that they got rid of a lot of X's core guard canceling and fakes that she used to have in previous games.

I'd like it if Leihua took more of Xianghua's fakes, guard cancels and straight forward design over the reliance on SXS stuff. Oh and A+K could go and I wouldn't raise a fuss about it.

Fun fact; Leihua is 15 - younger than Xianghua by one year when she started her journey. Leihua is also the youngest confirmed character so far. Prior to SC4, the youngest character at age 15 was Talim.

I'm pretty sure Amy was the youngest... atleast it seemed like it was. I guess Raph didn't want to tell her age, so Voldo wouldn't get any ideas.
