Lost Swords adds Astaroth, Nightmare and Pyrrha!

With Christmas around the corner, it has become obvious to anyone that the release for Lost Swords has slipped into 2014. Initially slated for release before the end of 2013, Namco-Bandai has just confirmed that the game will not get an official release till next year. Project Soul has pushed the game back in order to provide a higher quality game to it's fans.

With the bad news however, is some good news. Three new characters have been added to the roster. In addition to the previously announced Mitsurugi, Siegfried and Sophitia; Astaroth, Nightmare and Pyrrha will also be playable upon the game's release. How do you guys feel about the choice of new characters? Did they add your favorite character? Are you disappointed at the addition of yet another sword and shield character?

It´s a videogame, they can put the excuse they want, is not that hard, that´s why we have Ivy in SC5 fighting when she is actually an old grandma.

Plus, this game may not have story at all, so is not weird to see any character.

Oh, and in the end we aren´t sure if Sophitia is dead, it think they´ve been changing some profiles lately.

Sophitia and Pyrrha in the same game? And Pyrrha doesn't look much younger than her SC5 self, if younger at all. Yet Sophitia died at some point when Pyr and Pat were kids...

I find it odd that they would include Pyrrha and Sophitia but neither Leixia nor Xianghua.

 

I hope Lady Sorel can make it back in, seeing as this isn't supposed to be a canonical game . . . although if both Amy and Viola made it back in, then I don't know if that'd technically be proof that they aren't the same person . . .

 

Everyone talking about tweeks and balance in this game but do we forget that it's gonna be 1 player? It already sucks. A single player fighting game. No online vs. You'll only be ably to use people's custom characters as help during your crap.

Well actually, they had a legitimate reason for Ivy becoming ageless. It's because of Soul Edge. Same reason why Maxi and Tira still look the same age. Cursed blood, malfestation, embedded shard etc.

And that is what I´m saying, they can be creative and put any excuse that can be believed in the videogame universe

If someone think is hard to explain why Sophitia is in the game, even if she died or not... Then wrong, anyone could think a lot of ways to explain it, that´s the creative mind of the people.

Someone mentioned to me that she disappeared from the realm of Soul Calibur in the SCIV to SCV time gap and wandered in the realm of Warriors Orochi. When her job was done there, she came back into her own realm, thus her returning for Lost Swords.

I don't really believe that is the legitimate reason why she is here because that game is non-canon. Could be the case of Project Souls bringing back characters for the sake of it. End of the day, its FTP. I don't mind whatever there going to do and how it is going to work.

Not even sure why we're giving this game any attention, tbh. It's a slap in the face to the player base to not even have offline VS mode.
