I had fun.
I didn't make it far! but I had fun and I learned alot. I guess thats the best I can hope for without any real competition where I am that i'm actually in contact with. I learned to go "back to the basics" with my setsuka and get in touch with some classic side-stepping, BB action there. I had my girlfriend and my buddy record some of the matches while I did casuals with an awsome cervy player and KurisuKappsu's new and improved Astaroth. I got set against my two worst enemies during my first few matches!
My first match I got set up with ZDAMNCD's Ivy. I stood up to him pretty nicely, we went back and forth for a little while with me winning one match and him winning another and eventually pulling ahead of me by catching me with one of ivy's command grabs and raping my health bar.
My next match, to get back into the tournament I was unfortunate enough to get set up against Ekindu and his crazy voldo. He beat my Maxi 2-0 with pretty much no real trouble, but i'm happy with getting a few good combo's in. Overall they were close matches, but everytime I got close to beating him he went into this hyper offensive mode with Voldo and at that point I couldn't keep up. Voldo's mixups are scarey!
After a few casuals, Sword_Lord got booted out of the tournament so we had our match when he was free. He's not as bad as I assumed he'd be, but ultimately I came out on top at maybe 4-2. (3-2?) But, aside from what was said between us he's actually a cool guy and I wouldn't mind doing it again. Maybe next time i'll have some money for you, and we'll bet on it.
Also, congradulations on getting to the Nationals to RTD and Suirad. I didn't get to fight either of you, I had to leave before Suirad was free and RTD left right after getting into nationals. I recorded matches between RTD and Ekindu, which were insanely tense and i'll have them posted as soon as possible along with some pictures. I know this is a long post, but it was just a fun experience for me. I'll be at the next one in this area.
