Namco Reveals Nightmare, Raphael and Leixia!

Okay, so technically, we all knew these characters were coming... Nightmare was leaked by Daishi several months ago on his Twitter, Leixia was soft-announced at this year's EVO, and Raphael was pseudo-revealed through some clever detective work dealing with the resumés of musicians.

I myself got a chance to play these characters and more at the closed-door press conference earlier in the week and I will give some short impressions about them, and the game in general tomorrow. There are many more announcements coming during the next few weeks, so keep paying attention!

I'm super late at replying to this. But I just want to show everyone that I'm a fanboy of this game. I'm a college student constantly on the web looking for Soul Calibur V information. *squeels*

Leixia looks... ok i guess. Not really into the banana look of her dress. I feel like she has no character in her face. Empty face.

Nightmare looks the same as in SC4. If there is anything different its only maybe very small details.

 

Raphael is the only returning character in the top row of new characters >.>

Still no sign of the promised SE/SC shortswords. Maybe that's just how they'll be displayed and everyone just equips them in different forms as usual.

Leixia is just another character that was made more "moe" (like Sophie -> Pyrrha), my friends will be pleased

Or maybe they're Pyrrha/Pat's ultimate weapons. Quite possible.

Honestly everybody, I love Abyssmare. I thought that concept was an improvement to Nightmare. I guess I'm alone on that. As for how he looks now, it's evident that the people pleading for the return of a SC2 Nightmare got they're wish. (by way of aesthetics, i mean). But Abyssmare aside, I think the best Azure Armor was the P1 in SC3. That was beautiful armor, and quite aesthetically balanced. I've been bothered since SC1 by Nightmare's costume, with that gothic spire on his face. :( now it's back. I hope he finally has a move to run somebody through with it. At least I can be happy with practical functionality.

Edit: Oh Shnapp! I didn't realize that it wasn't there on SC2. I also like the extra mouth on the arm in SC3. That was major wicked!

 

naw, I'm just trollin. This community has just been very overly emotional on the concepts of Sophimare and Viola/Amy and screaming the other is wrong. I was just reading people reactions :p

In that case. I recommend having fun trolling about the people that thought they saw eyelashes, as in feminine eyelashes, on this Nightmare. I'd also like to point out that it looks like there was somebody in the armor in SC3 when there was not. So this idea doesn't suggest anything. But kudos on the fanfic.

 

I'm just poking fun at how adamant each side is at these theories with very little to go by. These theories are possible, but it's silly for people to be claiming these as truths already. This community needs a giant dose of "WAIT AND FUCKING SEE" and to put their thoughts in the "pausible" category and not the "I'm nerdking259 and my voice is VG law bitches!" category.

 

If Nightmare actually is a person then it is likely Hilde's father, Kilik, or Yun-Seong. Assuming it is male that is; which as much as I like the sophimare theory I think Hilde's father or one of the other 3 is much more likely. There is also a chance though that Nightmare is possessing a new character altogether.

La bello being pre-order dlc is annoying but tolerable. Most of us who like the game will be pre-ordering it anyway. I just want to know when the collector's edition is going to be up for pre-order. I just canceled my previous pre-order because I want to change it. rather annoying really.

Raphael is not all that bad. The hat does make him look like a D/Van Hellsing type character and although many people do not like it I think it gives him more of an adventurous look and less one of the castevania vampire. Raphael and Mitsurugi were 2 of my mains since SCII so I'm happy to see him back. Might not continue maining though other characters look interesting.

Leixia is interesting and looks a lot easier to use than X. looking forward to eventually testing her play style. Has a few things I'm not a huge fan about but I can live with them.

The stages continue being awesome.

There's speculations on who it is but nobody knows for sure yet. "Some random dude" is about all we've got.

 

I don't give a flying platyupus how or why he isn't dead, I'm just glad the Sophiemare bs isn't true. Also, if Nightmare is faster...as in faster than he already was...I'm going to have some serious fun with this. I just hope his tech options are still there, as well as his wall rapiness. I loooooove the wall rapiness.
