NEC Results and Shout-Outs

Hey everyone, thank you very much for the good time in USA.
I finally manage to find some time to post something.

First of all, THANK YOU greatone !
Without your help, it would have been a lot more complicated.
You are a hero of this community, who always helps people who need it.
I don't know how to thank you enough for all you did, espescially for me.

Congratulation RTD, you won every single SoulCalibur competition over there. You are a true champion.
I am very impressed by your level improvement between FSAK and NEC. I didn't even know such thing was possible. But as I told you last time, when you enter a comp, I always consider you as the one able to won it.
Call me about this book you wanna write, I have to be sure to buy it before others can get their hand on it !

Congratulation DreamKiller. You nickname really correspond to what you did to French players !
I 'm not gonna lie. I expected to win both solo and team for Soul4. But you, RTD, whoaaaz and Ramon litteraly kill my dream ah ah.
Good job. You are a great champion. Every single final is not something to consider easy.
+ soul3 is your game so, you probably would have been in this final too.
It is always a pleasure to be with you and Ramon to randomly trashtalk people ah ah.

Congratulation Ramon. I didn't expect you to win against Dina, but you did it.
And you won the team, winning againt both France and Broke Teams.
You two guy's should play the game just a little more to be unstoppable !
It was only some days ago, but I already miss you and DK.

Congratulation Whoaaaz. You are the one who impressed the most of people. The team battle was really epic, and you won it. This was very impressive.
Our matches become closer and closer. I still don't understand how your Cassandra can beats me >.<
It will be a pleasure to host you in France if you manage to travel.
I'll give you infos, and help as soon as possible. Stay in touch.

Congratulation Khent. You don't give no matter what happen with Mina. I respect that, and hope that you'll be able to find a way to won against broke character with her. But also that Namco will give Mina some more tools in Soul5. I don't think that I'm very stronger than you. Your Shura can probably beats me from time to time. So, it's not true to say I'm stronger than you. It's just Ivy who is stronger than Mina. But on the other side, when you defeat players with Mina, then you are much more stronger for sure.
I still watch your vids with this character. And I am still happy to see mina win at the end.

Congratulation lolo. Your Yoshimitsu really is very strong. I'm really sorry that we couldn't do our MM.
Still you beat lots of people both in solo and team, and you are as strong as people expected.
I cannot wait to meet you again in another comp.

No congratulation to MICK. So Mr N°7 !
No victory in single. No victory in team. No victory in MM.
You have to wait for RTD's book !
Joking. It was great to see you again. You X really is impressive, and make me feel different than any other.
Ivy is just too strong in this game, but your game is probably better than mine.
Good job in all your other MM. I wish you good luck in Afghanistan, stay safe and see you in Soul5.

No congratulation to DocVizzo. You have to test pad before competition ! You know that, don't you ?
Ah... I hope you enjoyed your trip in USA, and wait for you in Cannes for the WorldGameCup, Mr German captain !

Good job to ZeroEffect for his impressive Talim. And thanks for the little talk about Talim, it was instructive.
Good job Tira player that I forget the nickname. Our french Tira player is now jealous about you ah ah.
Good job to all the players at NEC. It was a good competition. And good job to the organizers, and particularly to Jaxel who always support the comunity. Thank for that.

Special thank to Bubbles for the matches in the room 402. Ivy > Algol !
ShadowG, I'm not gonna quote you from the FSAK thread but, weren't you suppose to bet on Mick 100$ ?

THANK YOU guy's.
See you.

Next time im not gonna waste time with maxi malek, its algol for the whole FT5 IT'S ON BRO

also how was the pizza? I liked it I just hope you did

THANK YOU guy's.
See you.

I did. $50 of the $100 you took from your MM against Mick was mine that I put up. Maybe you thought there was a side bet but you didn't say anything because I would have accepted lol too bad for you.

p.s. Something-Unique and Oof ya'll are wack ass sucker emcees

Please don't group me with the cynic. But I had matters to attend to. I saw most of the tournament though.

Philly:
Wats good this weekend. Any sessions going down. I'm free from the massacre that was this semester and was thinking about swinging through.

Nice tournament. Watched the whole thing on youtube. It always makes me smile to see a lower-tiered character beat the so called "better" ones. RTD has proven that any character in the right hands can be devastating. Kinda calls into question the whole tier listing as a whole if you ask me. How many more broken characters are yet to be, "discovered"?

Ok but apprentice has some tools which give him a chance when being played at high level. A+B throw break is gnarly specially for someone like RTD who can see and react to quarter of a second moves. He also has his FC 8K:A which can ring out as well as Hilde. He has great pokes and solid damage. Rock doesn't really have that much stuff going for him.

Oh and i dont think Apprentice is "broken" but that is my opinion :)

Real quick though, I want to address the whole Team Random Select vs Team Sexy incident. Now, rules are rules. I remember watching an old tournament match a while back (Don't remember who, it might have been an RTD match) but someone paused. Now, when they paused, the commentator was like "That's the round. It's in the rules." BUT WHEN SOMEONE PAUSES AGAINST BLACK MAMBA?!?!?! Oh man! That was so "Unsportsmanlike." The same thing happened to me in SF Teams later in the day when the arcade stick I was borrowing stopped working in mid-match and I gave up the round just fine.

My controller shut off for no reason and paused my match against Dreamkiller in Jersey a few months ago, but he shrugged it off because 1. I never get to play in tournament because I never have time or money and 2. I'm a scrub and he annihilated me.

Also he's a cool guy, so that has a lot to do with it. So really, it is entirely up to your opponent.

RTD has proven that any character in the right hands can be devastating.

Was it RTD? Or was it Kura?
Of course, not to take away from Rob's victory. He came, got into our heads, and was the better man.
But Kura got second at Nats, when everything was legal with a crap tier character.
He may not post, or be active with vids and everything. But that right there is fuckin talent at it's best, because you will NEVER see some shit like that again.

Chuck - <3 Come to Winter Brawl =)

It happened later in the day with RTD vs Dina. Except in that case, RTD purposely paused to check his buttons. I admit I was disappointed that the match was decided like that, (who wouldn't be?), since I'm all about playing the match out. But it is what it is. Can't blame you for wanting to take the sure thing.

I never fully understood the pause rule to begin with, and what the benefit is from putting it into practice. But let's be real, we really can't compare a controller/stick resetting mid-match to sports rules...

reeeallly now? hmmm, I think I may have to disagree.

the RTD vs DINA thing kinda made me LOL. i mean, it was certainly a bitch move to take the round after he had jacked the controller spot and made the buttons wrong when RTD had just played, but after the whole FSAK thing i thought RTD kinda had it coming. i thought it was funny.

Like I said, it's in the rules and Rules are Rules. Whenever it happens to me, I give up the round.

And yes, you can compare a pause/reset rule to a sports rule. I was asked to either play it out or take the round, (Accept or Decline the penalty) and I chose to take the round. (Accept, exactly like Football) Whether everyone thinks it is honorable or not, I don't care. I was just following the rules. I have no feel of honor in a game I don't even play anymore. A lot of things can be compared to competitive gaming/pro gaming. You just have to open your eyes and look at the bigger picture. And that's real.

Now lets be real about this, and I mean this in the realist way possible. If there was that off chance that the round played out and I did actually lose to Talim somehow someway, wouldn't Dreamkiller have just played "Cleanup" anyway? There is a reason why we save our obvious best player for last.

It's really not the same situation, given that in sports those kinds of penalties are largely controllable/preventable factors, but it's whatever.

As for Dreamkiller playing cleanup against "Talim", sure it's possible, but not guaranteed. That's why I said I can't blame you for taking the sure thing.

Whether you play the game anymore or not has nothing to do with it. You made a choice. Personally, I just play the matches out regardless, and if I can't beat the person then I just don't win. Simple as that. Clearly, we have difference of opinion on the matter, so we may as well drop it and agree to disagree.

SMH @ Lobo's post...

there is no PUSSY way to handle it...its all about character, nothing else! sure you will be mad for someone taking the win against you, but that happens after anything that penalizes you for doing something! If you feel like you should take the win...then do it!

Ramon, I think he was talking about Dina taking RTD's controller setting (controller 1, 2 etc..) which changed his button layout. Though I don't think Dina did this intentionally, I think that's what lobo was saying anyway.

But you are right. It's still just a choice.
