New Artwork and Assets from GamesCom 2011

As GamesCom 2011 continues in Cologne, Germany, Namco continues their steady release of new information and artwork. While a few select Europeans are getting the chance for a first hands on with the game itself... (curse you, Kayane!) we're stuck here with screenshots and artwork only!

Everything is looking very good i must say. The game seems very polished with everything we've seen. Has anyone heard of the release date? Can't imagine they would let Kayane play the game if it wasn't close to complete. Anyways good stuff so Namco PLEASE CONFIRM KILIK!!! Kilik is the new bad guy i'm betting and can't wait.

Release date is in the trailer... 2012. Nothing more specific is known. And it can’t in any way be close to done, since it’s been in development for a very short time as it is... lots left to do for sure.

Kilik was hinted to be dead/cursed/something. But the prevailing theory is that Sophitia is the new host for Nightmare, and the main character is supposed to be Patroklos, so it’s doubtful that Kilik is the main bad guy if he is still alive at all.

 

Wow... I agree, the characters are great but these screens of the new stages are absolutely gorgeous. Especially that river bridge town square stage.

 

Finally, the stages take you all over the world instead of being stuck in one really long and gay tower. Yawn.

 

I am so pleased by all of this awesomeness. Yet, if Talim does not show up, I'm gonna be very disapointed. SC2 was the first game I every took to a tournament level. Talim was that character. I would like to always have her as my main.

 

Is it just me, or does Maxi look like a freakin' boss?

Like seriously, his artwork looks like he is trying to say "Ima boss" with Rick Ross in the backround saying "HUA" every five seconds.

 

Tira takes the sexiest character award hands down. Hilde's helmet looks sick. I love what they've done with her.

Voldo's spider head crotch guard is both creepy and sexy.

 

Everything looks great so far to me. Now if only I could see who wins between Ivy and Voldo... Hope we get some more gameplay videos this week in addition to the new screens.

And this whole age thing... 17 years shouldn't put the Bride of Frankenstein look onto all the ladies. Everything looks fine. I don't need any more wrinkles. Scars, maybe.
And the stages are looking impressive too.

Wow these artwork are awesome! We can say characters have aged all except Maxi, but I think Namco will explain later! Can we expect some videos too?

 

Voldo's costume is a definite improvement... which is to say it's that much creepier... (Voldo, only you could pull off orange and purple)

 

Spider?! Why..? Where did they get this creepy yet wonderful design from? We may never know =P

LOVING the stages!! Thank god for actual, real world looking locations and not giant, magma-encrusted towers of crap.

I'm pretty sure the new town square stage is in Germany - or rather the Holy Roman Empire at the time (which is why I guess it is refered to as "Roma") It looks really reminiscent of Koblenz or Koln in Germany, complete with "pepper pot" spires on the buildings:
