I decided to buy Fate/Stay Night and Desert Punk. If I bought all three my bill would have been $91 dollars -_-; I'll buy the Tsukihime boxset later if it still $21 and they still have it in stick, there's only 7 left!

lol while i'm against that lol, if nobody buys than we won't continue to have our american anime fix..... and with more and more companies joining studios and channels such as Toonami, or Nick or Disney, etc... we're sort of needing more lol

I totally agree! anyone with an anime DVD collection should post of pic of it on this thread!

====== DOUBLE POST AUTO-MERGE ======
Um... Get...... Hype......... Maybe? Should we be excited for this

Subs are already out for it. Started last week

It's pretty much as exciting as you'd imagine watching DBZ again would be.(what ever that means to you) I thought the new sound effects and BG music seemed out of place with the same old animation. And the opening really makes you wish they just drew the whole damn thing over instead of yet ANOTHER HD DBZ re-release.

The only thing appealing about it is that in supposedly condenses the original 291 episode DBZ series, which is notorious for being drawn out, into a mere 100 episodes. So it'll be interesting to watch later on to see how they changed and cut it to fit that.

I haven't watched anime in a long time, but the start of a new series this season got me watching other shows that have started as well

Cross Game
Eden of the East
Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-hen(what I've been excited for)
Fullmetal Alchemist 2

and thinking of starting Shangri-La

I've had alot of free time as of late, lol

Anyone else watching anything?

what the hell is Basquash?

I've seen alot of people say it's good but it looks and sounds like the most retarded shit ever(CG robo leg basketball)

I'm watching older stuff -_-; :

Fate/stay Night
Desert Punk
Lucky Star

Stuff I want to give a try:

Darker than Black
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan

I'm supposed to be watching like 12 shows, but nobody is subbing them that I don't detest (Ayako). That list usually whittles down to like 3 or 4 with Hayate no Gotoku!! for sure staying on there. K-On! is looking like I will watch it, though for some reason I'm not as hype about the moeblob as I usually get, especially with KyoAni doing it. A lot of the shows actually look good though, so I may end up watching double or triple what I usually watch in a season.

On that note, Tayutama: Kiss is going to be absolutely horrendous. Same people that did School Days and Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka, two consecutive absolute train wrecks at the end. I'm going to watch at least the first half and see if I'm brave enough to watch the rest of it once they decide to actually start having a plot. I'm still absolutely bitter when they had one of the best female leads in an eroge adapataion in a long time (Yuuhi) and somehow screwed her over in 2 episodes to go for the popular siscon ending, though it was so predictable you saw it coming a long time ago, the only question was how and when.

pfft Ayako is still in the top 20 sub groups in my head, i can't stand having to surf for shit subs to get what I want, Ayako is greatly open in my brain

Ayako for me is forever associated with YourMom before they decided to change their name due to their horrible reputation. I've never really felt the need to give them another chance since.

About K-on!, I liked Haruhi, didn't like Lucky Star, but I'm really liking K-on!. I think KyoAni finally found their formula.

Eden of the East will likely end up being the best show of this season, IMHO. It is exactly the kind of show I'm looking for, artsy, great shot selections, interesting characters, and conspiracy TTM.

what the hell is Basquash?

I've seen alot of people say it's good but it looks and sounds like the most retarded shit ever(CG robo leg basketball)

Basquash is probably going to be pretty bad, but I'm watching it because it reminds me of a combination of Slam Dunk and Macross Frontier.

cause code geass is still the best thing since sliced bread!

QFT. Geass was just incredibly good. A friend of mine used to hate mecha shows, but it didn't take much for him to love Geass.

I don't quite understand the hype behind Code Geass. It's pretty much Gundams that don't fly, complete with your typical Sunrise morons that have the uncanny ability to over dramatically realize the obvious when it is too late. One or two semi-interesting plot devices isn't enough to make the first season not painful to watch when they are actually trying to advance a plot rather than just blowing up mechs. That being said, the first season was the build-up to the second season which was actually rather good, but mostly because somebody finally realized that C.C. was a more interesting character than everyone else anyways.

I didn't like Code Geass either

but I don't like alot of the new school mechas

It reminded me alot of Gundam Seed, which I hated for all the high school type drama.

but I have no idea what iKotomi is talking about since I've seen maybe 3 random episodes

I just didn't buy into the hype

Stuff I want to give a try:
Darker than Black

Don't

What!!!?? didn't like lucky star ohhhh man your missing out that anime made laugh my ass off even peed on myself cuase its so funny (not really pee on myself lol) but still its awsome i liked code geass it was a good k-on! is defently awsome queens blade is actully good but kinda wierd to valykira chronicles is just an epic win and there still more new anime to come out hell look guys we finally got FA2 look how long we waited for it and it fucking pwns naruto is going to end up like one peice a forever anime lol but thats ok cause both are fucking awsome as far as im concerned this year for anime is going to be fucking awsome im going to post a thread showing all my CAS anime chars since thats all i make hopefully it will let upload some of them.

run on much? lol

One thing Geass did exceptionally well was to make me hate Suzaku. I've never hated a character so much before. Season 1 really didn't have that much mecha focus, plus Lelouch was GAR in his own twisted way, unlike Jesus Yamato of Gundam Seed/GSD. It was far more tactical than the AC Gundam shows. Geass was more like UC Gundams if anything, which was a good thing.

The reason why Geass was a lot more tactical was because of the sheer mechanical inferiority of the mechs. They don't really fly and they move from place to place pretty damn slowly. Kind of like the way a lot of fighting games are now where zoning gets completely destroyed with the advent of air dashing, air blocking, etc. making establishing a good position trivial when it can be so easily overcome.

That is of course not applicable when you have the god mechs that suzaku uses, destroying any sort of tactical advantage in the same manner I was talking about, lol.
