Official SCV Stage Discussion

Lol That's not what I meant. The stages are more MK like, ya know more dark and stuff, so I thought maybe they're tying to make it appeal more to males.... afterall, most gamers are male.

Last numbers I saw was like 51%/49% male to female gamers. This isn't the 90's anymore.

Besides... we've seen what, two stages? There's plenty of room for more "bright" stages. Personally, as long as the stages aren't all squares and circles, I'm a happy camper. SCIV was extremely lazy in it's stage design.

Remember that we saw 2 stages before this too. The cage and the boat (although they're both extremely similar to stages in SC4).

Give me these two classic settings and I'll have a nerdgasm.

I really like the new stage. I know theres no ring out but its been a long time since we've had a bit of a roman greek buzz like this that was'nt a garden! Remember the stage in Soul Edge/blade with the water and fountains, I think it might of been called Colosseum.(actually there was a collo level in calibur aswell if I remember right) Very Happy with this, daylight and statue six pack for the win!

I think its wrong to compare it to Mortal Kombat just because the stages are busy with stuff. I like stuff. Mortal Kombat is shit... end of.

As now SC5 stages seem good

Oh,and i miss Coliseum like atmosphere,so i'm glad

Many SC chapters had Coliseum stage, but this one is the first to give the right feeling since SC1, approved

Mortal Kombat is exactly what I think of them too. What happened to the classic sc looking stages? Are they just looking to appeal to male gamers?

You are the worst poster on 8wr. All of your posts either scream HEY IM A GIRL PAY ATTENTION TO ME YOU KNOW THAT BY THE PREPONDERANCE OF FEMININE ISSUES I BRING TO THE TABLE TO FIGHT THE PATRIARCHY, or HEY I LIKE TAKI AND IF YOU DON'T YOUR A BITCH.

Honest question: Are you 14 and reading too much Sylvia Plath?

On Topic: At first I was repulsed by the idea of an infinite stage, but as I think about it, it's cool. In tournament among serious players we pick random stage anyways; so what does it hurt to give anti-ro scrubs something to cling to besides a cage? Also, adapting to the environment is part of being a good player. So we learn to deal with it.

Hey, hey, hey, let's not start a flame war you guys.

Anyways, back to the subject, I LOVE the battlefield graveyard stage. It has INFINITE space (finally after SC2 Inferno's stage) and seems to fit Zwei's demeanor.

Pfft. I honestly don't care what stages they add in, as long as they play well and don't take after the 'moving wall' traits that the star wars stage and Ostreinsburg had. That stuff completely ruined a lot of my wall combos with NM.

What do you mean exactly...Which stages in SC appealed to female gamers?
What kinda question am I even asking, I don't even....
Well, if you played SC2, there was Taki's home stage, which was like an oriental dojo surrounded by flowery pink trees, featuring an unrealistically pink sunset. So, yes, some of them did appeal more to female gamers.

Colosseum reminds me of PoP Sands of Time and God of War, other one reminds me of Painkiller (survival horror fps). I like them. But these stages has to be supported by good bgm's.

Yea I pretty much died when I saw that, people so rarely find valid situations to use the word preponderance these days. But that is gold!

But you have to be careful not to mess with her femi-genda, cos its as valid as everyone elses.
Burning is wrong but that was soo funny.

I appreciate your support. I actually support feminism, just not third wave feminism. A woman's opinion is not important just because of her "female perspective." Older waves of feminism had a point: the right to work, the right to equal pay, the right to equal protection under the law. All of these are important considerations for a polite civilized society. All I see these days is women citing their rights because.... they are women. Therefore, more important or somehow better outside of the content of their actions and ideas.

Also, fuck Sylvia Plath.
