[Ohio] Class is now in session

Holy shitzo, we have an offline scene here at Arcade Legacy?!

I thought I was all alone! Do you guys regularly play?
Well...USED to per se, but I play with Sluch and TIZ every now and then. TIZ is probably the most active SCV player, but I still play it on a regular basis. We play a lot of TTT2, but if you would like to play SCV, I'll happily do so! Just meet every Thursday at Arcade Legacy for Fight Nights and you shouldn't have problems finding us. :D
You'll probably see me there early playing the pop'n music machine. Everybody else tends to come later (5-6 pm-ish). See you there!~

Awesome! Glad to see some more people in the Cincinnati, Ohio area wanting to play some SC5. I'll be there for sure on Thursday to get some games in. Hope to see you there Fukou. If you want to get some games in online in SC5, add me on there as well. My PSN handle is the same as my gamer-tag as Sluch on the boards, so add me on PSN if you may my good sir.

console combat is starting up again! aug 24th. we're no longer at the fox n hound sadly, so this is gonna be at the microsoft store in the beachwood mall (this also means ALL games will be on 360).

so if cinci wants to come hang out again i'd love to see you guys here. im gonna hit up that al tourney in sept for sure.

Thanks for the heads up Eric. I'll see what I can do to make it there on Aug 24th. Glad to see that Console Combat is starting back up again. That does suck that it is no longer at Fox N Hound because I loved that place. Definitely hope you can make it there to AL in September for our tourney my good sir.

I do have a question Eric. Since Console Combat is going to be at the Microsoft Store in the Beachwood Mall & having all games on 360, does that mean that TTT2 & SC5 are going to be on the 360 as well?

yeah, even the 3d games have to be on 360. the mk and injustice community has a lot of pad players too, so they'd rather have ps3 as well. it sucks, i know. but the owner of the microsoft store cant have us playing on anything but 360. best bet is to use a good ps1/ps2 pad and one of these http://etokki.com/Xtokki360

Damn! For real!? I can understand from a business point of view as why the microsoft store will want things only ran on a 360, but from a tournament point of view (especially TTT2, SC5, MK9, & Injustice terms of things), that makes no sense whatsoever. If it was strictly just a 2D Capcom fighting game tournament, it wouldn't be an issue since those games are ran on a 360. However, that is not the case for the games I mentioned. That is really alienating the players for those games since a good majority of those players (including myself) play on a PS3 controller.

I definitely hope for the best & hope for success for Console Combat, but I for one won't be going up there anymore if that is the case since I won't be able to play. That's a shame because I always liked going up to Cleveland for Console Combat, playing some Tekken & Soul Calibur, & chilling with all you guys there while having some beers. That sucks because I really feel like pad players that support Tekken, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, & Injustice are being alienated now if they want to go to Console Combat.

Our best bet is to use Xbox controller adapters for PS3 controllers. When I play TIZ, I usually have to borrow one of Jesse's adapters. As for a price tag on these things, normal ones are selling for $15-20. I really don't want to buy one though... <_<
Somehow, if we could bring our own PS3 consoles and play it in a different area close to the Microsoft store, that could work, but I don't know any places.

Hello, I'm going to be starting college on Aug. 19, in the Greater Cincinnati area, and another member referred me here. I'm looking for offline matches as long as I'll be there, so I'd like an idea of the events. He mentioned a tourney soon, which I now think is the Console Combat, but are there any others? I play on PS3

Ragnarok: In terms of those converters from PS3 to 360, they are pretty legit since I've used those several times & had no issues with them in terms of reading inputs & not having any lag with those converters. However, the thing that sucks about them is that you have to connect either an arcade stick or 360 pad up to the converter first before it works, making it a real pain in the ass to deal with, especially in terms of tournaments.

Also, I don't think the Microsoft Store up there would even let you use any other console due to conflict of interest with business purposes. I understand why they would have that rule for sake of business, but as far as tournaments go, it's just not too good in terms of running things, but I guess it is what it is.

Tanhausser1: Good to see more peeps posting up & wanting to play. If you are going to be in the Cincinnati area soon for school & living around the area, that's pretty awesome.

If you're looking for SC5 offline games, that's even better. The place to go around here in Cincinnati to go for fighting games is called Arcade Legacy. It's located in the Cincinnati Mills Mall off of Exit 39 on I-275 in Cincinnati.

The best time to go is on Thursday for Fight Night between 5pm - 1am where everyone meets up there for playing fighting games & getting in offline matches. We have a decent amount of peeps that like to play SC5 there & we have some pretty good players here in the area, so you'll get some good competition for sure.

Feel free to post up here & head there once you're in the area my good sir. If you ever want to get some games in online as well on PS3, by all means add me on there. Looking forward to getting some matches in with ya for sure.

Sounds exciting ^.^ looks like I've already found a good downtime activity for the weeks, so I look forward to trying this out! Also, I'd like matches, as well, so I'll check my friends list and see if I have space, and if not I can make some.

Well life did come up and I couldn't make it this week. My car just so happened to arrive today and I had to set up a rental to go pick it up. That said, I ought to make it next week!

I'm definitely looking forward to getting some matches in with you guys. I'll be up at AL next Thursday as well when I get off of work that night, so we'll all get some matches in for sure in SC5.

Did life not permit you again? I don't think we saw you... :(
Will you be able to come Thursday Aug. 8th?
By the way, I'm carpooling with two friends of mine, so I won't arrive early when the arcade opens anymore. I'll be there around 5 p.m. I usually carry a black and white Swiss backpack and hang around the pop'n music machine (the game with 9 colorful buttons) when I'm not playing TTT2, so you shouldn't miss me. Hopely Sluch, TIZ, maybe Tanhausser, and I can see you there this week!~

Hope to see you all there this Thursday. I'll be there for Fight Night, but I do have to work on Thursday, so I'll see everyone there once I bounce out from work.

It was definitely an awesome night on getting in some SC5 online matches. Good games to Fukou & Tanhausser in SC5. It was good talking to you guys, & definitely look forward to getting some matches in offline at Arcade Legacy for sure in the near future.
