Putting together a proper matchup chart...

So I want to put together an "official" matchup chart similar to what the french did. The majority of the community here completely disagrees with the french chart, so I figure its time we made out own. What I need is for each of the Soul Arenas to get together and discuss within their arena the matchups based on every character in the game; not including bonus characters. Scores should be based on a 10 point scale, with a 5 being a perfect even matchup, a 0 being a no-win matchup and a 10 being a no-lose matchup. I don't need reasons WHY scores are given, you guys can do that in your Soul Arenas, I just need the outcome of what a character's community has decided upon...

Below is an example for Talim:
(the number is the chance out of 10 for Talim to win the matchup)
Code:
 1 - Algol
 5 - Amy
 4 - Astaroth
 3 - Cassandra
 4 - Cervantes
 4 - Darth Vader
 4 - Hilde
 3 - Ivy
 2 - Kilik
 4 - Lizardman
 5 - Maxi
 4 - Mitsurugi
 4 - Nightmare
 5 - Raphael
 5 - Rock
 4 - Seong Mi-Na
 4 - Setsuka
 4 - Siegfried
 3 - Sophitia
 4 - Taki
 5 - Talim
 5 - The Apprentice
 6 - Tira
 2 - Voldo
 4 - Xianghua
 5 - Yoda
 4 - Yoshimitsu
 4 - Yun-seong
 4 - Zasalamel

Algol
Amy
Astaroth
Cassandra
Cervantes
Darth Vader
Hilde
Ivy
Kilik
Lizardman
Maxi
Mitsurugi
Nightmare
Raphael
Rock
Seong Mi-Na
Setsuka
Siegfried

Tiagol, the problem was the way you handled your thread. You invited the hate into the thread, at this point I am saying there should be no hate in this thread, not even any DISCUSSION in this thread; discussion can go to each respective soul arena and handled on its own. The Talim SA has had a long running thead for this discussion and nothing bad has come out of it, only positive.

So quit hating.

however Jaxel,

you moved the hate from this thread into the character discussion thread...

not to mention i can't wait when the list gets consolidated when... one group says Character A>>> Character B and the other says Character B>>>>Character A...

Me thinks more productive things can be done with this community.

Most of us agree Algol and Hilde are S-tier. Every other rank is debatable amongst top players. For example, try telling Omega that Zasalamel is a bad character.

I think this is pretty interesting, I have a concern that once the finished product is completed and posted people will argue about.....Oh wait someone said what I'm going to say.

The real problem is that nobody wants to listen to anybody else. If you look at the old ranking projects, there was always 1 person who was the final arbiter ( WCMaxi ) that the other people would listen to. I gaurantee most ( not all, don't misquote me ) could be settled within 1 matchup, that is to say, some people say 5-5, some people say 6-4. But without someone to make the pick, people here will argue CONSTANTLY. I give mad props to Tiamat for trying to put together the original list, but you'll see that is exactly what happened. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. If you think your guy is so great, next time you meet player X who is also good and disagrees with you try it out. That's what the french and the old community did. But people here would rather argue, call each other names, and not do anything. Because its alot easier to tear shit down rather than talk it out and test shit out and see if it works.

It doesn't work that way. If two good players stand behind their main characters with enough authority, you'd think they can just test to see who is right by having a first-to-ten, right? No! Even if you win convincingly, it's not like the loser is going to say, "yeah, well I guess I was wrong." Just does not work that way. I've seen it happen too many times.

Carry on.

That's the whole point! That's why I'm saying its easier for them to just argue and not concede anything. It would be much harder for them to swallow their pride and say, "you know what, I still think the matchup is 5-5, but after playing you, I can see why it would be 6-4. I'm going to keep working this matchup, but let it ride at 6-4 for right now, because I need to work on my game." The table isn't carved in stone, its meant to reflect the best a character can be played with the knowledge we have at the present. But nobody wants to be the indian and everyone wants to be the chief. Look at how many people ACTUALLY do research and post their results online. That's the hard work that goes unrecognized. I'm excited about Nats and Evo not because of who is going to win the prize, but of the fruitful cross pollination that will occur with all the best players getting together. It's sad that the community can all jump on Sword Lord and give him shit, but we can't even come up with a matchup table.

I volunteer to be the indian and when all the chiefs fight I will swoop in and stabem booyah. Though having the first to 10 match is an iffy thing to do on its own isn't it? How would we go about picking the best player of each character someone might be great with the character but another person could just be good in the match up vs. Character X

i say if you dont like this idea...dont look at it and critique...its not that hard.

for those that want to talk about it, go ahead!

Jaxel i'll have a sophie matchup ready by thurs!

if the French beats the Americans during Evo with Asta, Sieg and NM

that would really make my day

and perhaps this is when this thread would be closed...
