Raphael General Discussion

Telling someone else the in's and out's of my character does not make them 'better'. That's like showing the other team your playbook in the NFL and say 'well if we're good we should be alright'. Raph is a razzle dazzle character that doesn't measure up to par when you break him down, so I'm certainly under no obligation to put on an anti-raph clinic for people who don't want to figure it out for themselves, especially not when many of them already have an easier time by playing easier characters.

Besides, all Raph and anti-Raph stuff can be found in these threads already. Don't be lazy, Panda.

Hey Hudathan, I didn't see it from that way before...so no argument from the peanut gallery.

Another thing...at Evo....I watched your video's with IvyFanBoy and Link(or Malek)? Can't remember...but did Link or Malek seriously beat you with step and BB or was that some joke fight or something? I'm not dissing you at all, I highly doubt I could touch Link either, but wtf was up with that video? Can Ivy shut Raph down that bad?

it was with linkrkc (Malek wasn't even in our pool)- a 3rd controller was active on the machine and it kept pausing th egame in the middle of the one roundso they had to reset to un-sync the unknown controller and then re-distribute the round wins. What I don't believe you saw (I may have a video of it somewhere, but I don' tthink I was taping) it was taking forever to get everything as it "should" be and at one point linkrkc actually rung himself out so we had to start all over.

It was really funny - you probably had to be there to appreciate the humor, though.l

It was Link, and it's no joke match, he beat the hell out of me. It didn't have anything to do with his character but rather his sense of spacing and neutral game. He out-played me essentially and really went to show how much skill still factors into the equation.

Wow...o_o....that's scary. I know what you mean from the inside, but watching it from the outside is still awkward. That's how players like Freaky seem to win as well, spacing and constant awareness of advantage/disadvantage.

ok dont know if this was found before but:

SEA A and SEB A on hit alow a free back throw mix up on hit provided you run forward a bit

kinda like VE A

back throw beats all options including: BT 2K BT 2A BT 2B

If this hasnt been discovered before now we are all dumb

old news ... the BT +10 frames for his stance A moves are INSANE!! Plus its hard for them to step when BT'd.

I NEVER KNEW THIS actually because they were never in throw range...I assumed if I tried to run up and grab them(even alittle 66) I would lose the entire frame advantage.

humbug

i have some questions....
Why many ppl uses 9K but nobody uses 44K?

What is the best option (xcept 2a) against a fast opponent stepping left AND TC?

Most Raph's forget iWS A, that's why. Please abuse that stuff until they give up stepping.

Works especially well if you're a CF Raph, as long as they stop stepping and start blocking, before they know it, they're blinking red.

its i22 it is still punished by step WSB of many many chars expecially kilik..(stun in NH so lame....)
I need a fast option cause my problem is against a fast step and TC move..... :(

How do you step punish WS A when it tracks both sides and is only -12?
Unless of course there's a newer patch that I didn't know about.

Hes talking about step into iWS B I think, which imho doesnt sound very practical. If in range it should still hit Kilik before the hitbox moves back far enough to avoid it.

Dude, Raph's iWR A is useful, but don't make this out to be a ANTI-STEP SAVIOR

It's slow(i22), it's WR, it's -12 on block, and it only does 20 something damage. You think Amy and Taki are going to stop stepping you and getting inside based on this move? Keep dreaming...

i just 6b the fuck outta amy/taki wen they try to get in close....kant step and run in at the same time...

yo dawgs just do 2a and 66a
