Raphael Video Discussion

1. Nice setup with AA followed by step followed by 2B+K.
2. I notice that you take a lot of damage attempting to apply okizeme game on a grounded opponent. Happens to me too. Especially against smaller characters, maybe better to 2K / 2B or just walk back wards. But I know you like running up to use 11K so you need a
3. Speaking of following up 11K on hit, I notice you guessed wrong every time between 1K, 3A and then 4B. Maybe you were unlucky, but especially against characters with fast AA and 2A, then 4A+B is amazing. You just need to know which characters rely on fast AA and 2A as interrupts. Normally I like 8A+B because it will beat the opponent trying to step after you hit them with 11K (and beat pyrrha's and patroklus' 236B). Only Leixia and Natsu will throw out AA that is too fast for 8A+B.
4. Regarding your last match, the wall splat combo after prep K BE hit, you should have ended the last hit with A+BA instead of 2B. Anytime the opponent is near a wall but slightly to your right, it will hit.

Ok, Thank you, for advice.

Finally, I know what they're thinking!
I tried using immediately.

Total Raphael ownage right there.

And PizaNiko, you have some pretty good matches. You do most things pretty well. All I will say is that you should try to vary your Prep usage more. At times, SE becomes too predictable and you get interrupted. Train them to let you enter SE with your other Prep options. Also, practice reacting to unblockables, by interrupting or avoiding them.

(please see after 1:35, and have fun)

Thank you all, but im not so good. (In particular, my 'hand' is very slow.)
So do we just enjoy the video, and talking about Raphael's Strategy.

HOLY bleeeep!!! PizaNiko took out that Mitsu beautifully with counters and foot movement. And that CE interrupt in the middle of the BE of that NM CAS with all that lightning around Raph!!! Like a BOSS!!!!

Well well...seems like you need some work on this MU, which is actually the easiest one for Raph lol. You should be aware that Raph's 6BB punishes over 90% of Zwei's moves except the EIN ones. Keep that 6BB going. You seem to be unfamiliar with the EIN paces, which pressured you quite a bit and prevented you from gaining momentum. QS into 4B will shut down his KF stance. Study Zwei's moves and learn to duck and/or step EIN attacks. If he delays them, quickly interrupt. Some are high and some are mid but you can step all of them. Zwei does recover in time before you can whiff punish but you can do mixups and prevent Zwei from pinning you down. Make Zwei respect Raph's spacing and punishing ability and deny him EIN benefits. Once you add in your 2K, 2A, and Prep mixups (he does have anti prep but it's not that bad), you'll see how sad it becomes for Zwei.

Not bad Delloso. You forgot to use 3A in the second match tho when you landed the B throw into the wallsplat. This matchup is actually in raph's favor but nothing major tho. A couple of notes
- Its best to disrespect a few frames every now and then like gamble a TC or whenever you're grounded do a jumping attack.
- 22 BB from zwei can be stepped.
- GI can be great in this matchup as zwei is meter dependent on alot of his damage and setups.
- Careful of 4B you have to get use to the delay version but when u do then 4B BE delayed shouldn't be a threat to ya on guard.
-4(A) can be stepped, you just have to get use to the moves animation same thing with his 1(B) which is duckable.

Wish i had Psn to play you guys, oh well.

I got hit by Ein too many times because I tried to JG it to stop his frame advantage, especially on the third vid. How effective is JG to deny Zwei his frames? Should I just GI Ein instead?

And yes, I barely worked on this mu, because I never felt the need to. The few Zweis I faced before were easily beatable, but that's not really an excuse. I do know the theorical part about him being very unsafe and vulnerable to ducks, but I lack the training to put that in use right now.

Truth is, FLG outplayed me. He deserved to win, he clearly has much more experience in the game than me ( he played over 6000 player matches and won 80% of them, I haven't even played 600 games lol). he beating me shows that the game is well balanced. btw we played 5-6 matches and I only won 1.

Errr not recommended. Most EIN attacks are plus on guard and JG doesn't do much at all. Lol for some of EIN attacks, Zwei is still at plus even if you JG. Don't try it. Just quick step them or duck the high ones. You have enough time to avoid them. Oh and check the Zwei Matchup Discussion thread for more information. Slade covered most it.

That also means Raph isn't bad :)

Delly, I want you to hook up electric clamps to your nipples that shock you every time you do Prep K. That's all, the rest of your play was decent and I give you enough credit to know where your mistakes were.

Bojack, FLG loves to step prep, from what I have played him. I will keep using prep K until he denies me that. Besides, Zwei is probably the worst character in the game at punisning. Your comments are always funny though lol.

So what would you guys prefer? A video where I walk all over my opponent, or a closer match? I have a fair few of both recorded in sweet 1080p now.
