Raphael video thread!

Always impressive to see a Raph beat Amy...

Nice use of 44A,B into Prep, but after it, you often choose prep K, instead of prep A. Is there a reason ?
Also, is 44B worth using after a GI ?
I usually use prep K when 44AB CH, if they get up you can VE, if they stay down, prep K:K 11B is guaranteed.

When I hit 44AB CH, the target falls to Raph's right and he misaligns Prep. I'd expect Prep K to only maybe hit Asta, everything else is completely off-axis. EDIT: I mean I've done Prep K, and it's always plain missed, but don't recall trying it against Asta.
When this hasn't happened is when I'm lucky enough to have the opponent SSR into the 44A.

I've noticed two things recently. One, SEA Prep 2 is really sensitive and I end up in SEB unless I flick the :2:. [/irrelevance] But two, I'm wondering if 44A's weird hitbox is a hidden input, where 44:(A): removes the first hitbox (for some terrible reason that wouldn't even have post-gi uses, but nevertheless...). Random suspicion, needs more testing.

if raph hits someone stepping/8wring with 44AB, there IS a chance the 2nd hit will actually whiff if the character is caught stepping to raph's left (raph'll continue with is animation heading the other way). 44AB connecting head on and against characters stepping to raph's right will be successful though. (Only tested against a raph, but he's average sized).

I'm debating against tech-rollers after CH 44AB.. do you go for the mixup with VE (and there is a chance that they roll out of VE grab range) or stick with SEA B for the CH potential or at least decent SG damage and + frames into more prep? Using raph, I haven't found a way to escape (after eating 44AB) both SEA B and prepK:K 11B combo, but I think most people'll take the tech-roll mixup anytime because staying down is pretty tremendous damage (for raph against grounded)

WuHT: If you really have to, you can just SE2 on wakeup as long as you want, since it autotracks. So unless your opponent rolls to your back you can set up CH or something.
There isn't lot of stuff you can do on wakeup, so if you dont feel comfortable with VE/prepK/SEA_B just go with empty prep, empty VE etc.
You have to settle with cancels once your opponent gets used. Cancels/empty stance can be pretty annoying actually.

Here are two fights of me using Raphael, hope you like the fights, any feedback is always welcome :)

Nice vids. I'd say your control of distances is very good. That's what I noticed immediately. You never seem to use moves meant for longer distances. Perhaps, however, your opponent needs to improve his defense.

Just a detail, btw : there is a topic dedicated to videos.

Duelo 1.. A LUCHAR!

you know what I noticed the other day? if you knock something off an opponent like cassies shoulders, and they stay on the stage. If she does a just frame her shoulders will still flash lmao
LMAO, i never noticed that!

you seem to whiff 2A alot then do WR B immediately after IDK if you do that on purpose but what ever it was working
instead of using 66(B) try just 66B its only slightly less damage but much safer on whiff/block, plus it leaves you in a pretty good position when spaced right
I nice guesses post 66A+B block, K is a good option but is interchangable with 6BBB, both are i13 but 6BBB is longer range and 40 damage on CH. Just make sure you can CH confirm
not really much else to judge since you completely outplayed the other guys
these guys pretty much fell for everything you did hookline and sinker

Great I'll have this in mind, unfortunately, there aren't many competitive players in my country, just like 4, so I rarely have the chance to train against humans :S

Thanks again for the feedback, I am a Sieg player, but I also want to master Raph as his style is awesome and unique and I like low tiers cause is more challenging. My next project is seung mina :D

Hi everyone !

I know it's a bit late, considering we'll soon be playing SCV, but I've found vids of this Raphael player, a guy called COP DT7, and I thought his playstyle was interesting.

The vids don't seem to work in high res (480 works fine for me).

I like his placement of the more situational moves such as 44K, 3A+B, and A+B in the Astaroth match. Sometimes you try too hard to be solid and miss the opportunities to make the opponent freeze, one of Raph's strengths.

Now that there's more than a couple of vids of me out there, I thought I'd link them all and get feedback.
I don't own PS3 and using the controller at these gatherings has still been an issue. Mainly on 2P side, I screw up diagonal inputs a shit-ton, and on some pads, double tap. ****. PS was supposed to be the good pad.
