Raphael video thread!

Wouldn't SEA A be better against steppers? This move is 3 frames slower but leaves you even on block and at +10 on NH and CH. It is a high, but most will stand in fear of SEA B if they know prep.
SEA A is fine, I use SEA B first to test my opponent's knowledge and habits when it comes to prep. Prep game requires you to change up how you play depending on your opponent and situation anyway. SEB is part of the equation as well.

1) If by "Voldo raping raph prep game" you mean ultra-unsafe, neg on hit 1B than no, voldo doesnt rape raph prep game with this crap. Actually theres a number of characters who can actually "rape" Raph's prep simply interrupting it. Nevermind stepping.

2) If i remember correctly SEA B tracks rather well, where SEA A is weak to one side. On a side note SEA A ducks AA , and SEA B ducks AA only if delayed properly, though guarantees prep BB on hit.

is it just me or do alot of raphs kicks have amazing tracking? K seems to track well also 6K tracks to raphs right a little bit ,4Ktracks both sides, and 22K tracks nicely as well

Leave it to Namco to make moves that we have to find since they didn't give us any horizontals.

Very nice vid

Death-stun GI @ 0:25

predicting sieg's 3B to anti-prep, the raph's VE's twice @ 1:06 and 1:08. Bringing this up because you'll notice that the sieg starts doing a lot of horizontals instead when he's under pressure lol -- which netted him a ringout

1:18 is a good example of prepB~prepB catching step (or so i read on the thread of this vid) multiple times

1:47 is my favourite demonstration of the push back of 3B on block.

--there's a 2nd vid too for those curious

Holyforce has a point.....vs good players, Prep BBB:B in particular(aka, prep rushdown), unless it's CH'd, is going to get ducked/punished ALOT. You have to throw in plenty of prep A's and Prep Sea B's, getting predictable with prep is the surest way to get your ass handed to you with Raphael.

Seriously, it's coming to the point where the 2 main extensions to prep

Prep BB...
Prep Sea B

I'm scared to use prep BB much anymore, because opponents who KNOW ME are really starting to duck/punish my shit. Voldo? This guy has nothing but TC's and shenanigans to hit you outta prep.

The only prep tool I never really use is prep VE....I think I need to start making that one work for me, because the choker around Raphael's neck seems to constantly get tighter as I move up my competition.

actually the siegfried used a lot of 3B (TC's early) against the prep entry (which of course prep A could have solved...but in this case CF used VE). And the rare time sieg just did a 2K to try to stuff prep, CF just did a 3B, which knocked sieg back enough so that the 2k whiffed.

I just liked it especially due to the death stun and the teleport lol. CF didn't poke enough for my tastes, but to each their own i suppose.

I mean we could say that he didnt finish easy prep stun combos for damage + knockdown, but he instead opted for SEA re-entry into prep, which imo seemed to work against the soul guage (which is another trade-off worth debating) instead of going for the more obvious damage + knockdown.

I have mentioned in another thread that I often take this same trade-off...especially after Prep A (only using 3 prep B instead of the last B:B)

That's another big thing about Raphael that you briefly brought up Trolt.....When to go for SG crushing and when to go for damage.

Now I'm always going for damage, but I can't understand when I'm fighting certain character's using pretty much the same SG crushing moves(66A+B/11B/SEA B/Prep A+B when I can get away with it) and I'll have Mitsu's/Kiliks/alot of female characters in the red by 2nd round, but all the big guys like Astaroth/Cervantes/Siggy/Nightmare it seems like it just never get's even close. o_O...maybe they're breaking me just as bad....

SG crushing in a fight works better as a threat then a reality. Especially if you're behind on health, people will start attacking at disadvantage and GIing excessively, making Raphael salivate like Michael Vick's back yard.

Vid gets better and better towards the end.... must duck kilik 6AAA and his WR K more!

Here's a bunch of my Raphael videos.

(mine is the custom character)
If you land 3, you might as well do Prep BB for the gauranteed damage. Then you can continue prep or just finish the combo.

Also, all of Zas's stuns are shakeable. I think. I know the one he stun combo he got on you was very shakeable (lots of time before he can hit you).

Lastly - more kicks. :)
