I was going to create a new thread, so I will just say what I need to say here.
Something-Unique: I'm not trying to be difficult, but you are by trying to do what you want instead of listening to what I'm trying to suggest to you. If you want people to come to GAMME, post in the thread for it. We both want the same thing, and now it's starting to get some hype behind it, so start posting there and keep the hype going.
Before we start suggesting to people on where to go, we all need to get people to first start playing this game offline and have fun doing so. SC4 is alot of fun. You guys need to be playing it OFFLINE. It's also up to everyone in each region to keep things going because we can't expect mad people to show up for majors when there isn't much going on in their region unless they are really good at this game.
It's also time for everyone to get on board and use the ruleset the east coast is currently using for Soul Calibur. I know everyone has their opinion on Hilde and Algol, but they do not make this game fun to play on a tournament level, and I am sure as hell not flying somewhere to fight against them when I will certainly lose.
I have been waiting patiently for Namco to do something to this game, but they have clearly showed that their support isn't going to go beyond a few patches or give a damn about this game otherwise. I know it sucks for those who started off with them, but we need to think about the big picture if we want to keep this game alive since who knows when a new one will be out. As for comparing Hilde to Sagat, Sagat is beatable, plus there's mad scrubs who are willing to enter in tournaments for SF4 and not so much for SC4.
And I have also seen the difference for my own eyes when we implemented the rules at Jaxel's then went back to allowing everyone for the last tourney at Jaxel's that no one really showed up to and for NEC which no one really showed up to or had any hype for. As long as we don't have a single ruleset, it's going to continue to hurt us.
I always felt that SC4 wasn't going to be at EVO because the east coast is the only region that still holds tournaments and anywhere else that has SC4 barely has a turnout. But I still wanted to see it return to the lineup because I was looking to go this year. But if they wanted us there at EVO, they would have just added the game to the lineup and not put it up in a vote where we would certainly lose.
I'm not going to tell people what they should do, but I'm not going to EVO. That lineup is whack as shit. Plus it's counterproductive for us as a community to have people come all the way out there for a side tournament when there's two majors that want us there that they could and should go to. Let me repeat, they want us there. So if you can, you should try to make it out to one or those or maybe both if you are able to do so.
Now that SC4 is officially not at EVO, I am going back to what I suggested to do back in August of last year which is to hold the national tournament or whatever you want to call it at GAMME since the pot is at $2000. I don't know why people weren't for it back then, so maybe you will be for it now. Plus I want to see people from other countries to come out, and it would be better to have them come to Orlando instead of Vegas for a side tourney.
I wish I could make it out also to Devastation, but that's dependent on my budget and being able to take time off. Once I know what my budget is, I will have a better idea. But I hope to see you guys at wherever I can make it because SC4 is awesome without Hilde and Algol and more fun to play than these other fighting games. So let's start putting these ideas into motion.
