SC Controversial Topics and General Shitposting Thread

I’m disappointed that we didn’t get any new information, but at the very least it was super cool for Namco to have a SCVI event.

Knowing that everyone who’s been getting their hands on the game has a boatload of positive things to say and only a handful of negatives (which are generally based around no new chars in the build they got to play) is encouraging, and awesome.

Now, back to shitposting:

Did you mother fuckers see that damage from X when she was Soul charged? I got a brief case of PTSD seeing it and then thinking back to the times Paul has deathfisted me 3 times and won a round in Tekken.

Like, damn bitch, calm yo tits

Let’s hope that April showers will bring more than just May flowers. Let’s hope they bring Astaroth, Lizardman, Hilde, Setsuka, and ... other characters I don’t care enough about to list... I guess...
X will never calm her tits. Do you think Lizzy will get a name? Or will Bamco sell us another aeon as dlc?
Also didn't kayane say re gave you like half a meter but it's just awkward to get the hit off?

Are we for sure that the win tally was in-game and not some overlay that they were using for the stream? I know it looked spot on for the UI, but I didn't see them actually like, entering the names in-game or a menu option to reset win tally or anything like that. Plus there was a bit after the bracket was over where I saw 6 wins on one side and the tally never went above 3.

They've now locked the news thread and deleted any comment criticizing a mod behavior.

This is absolutely hilarious to me.

But thank God we still have the shitposting thread! (But don't be surprised if this comment gets deleted too.)

The News thread is probably locked for cleanup. It’ll more than likely be back with a super passive aggressive, condescending, manchild, bitch baby response that reflects how the one responsible can’t get any respect at the KFC he works at even though he’s been there for nine years and still isn’t assistant manager.

Sad.

People kept going off-topic after being warned multiple times not to. It was only a matter of time before the thread got locked and cleaned up again.

Well....I don't think it's coming back based on that last post we just saw on that thread.

Speaking of which, that administrator makes it really unpleasant to visit this site whenever he decides to go on one of his pissy moods. Even feels the need to delete comments that criticise him. Makes it feel like I'm visiting some kind of website run by a dictatorship instead of what's supposed to be a chill fucking fan site. Like, christ.

the admin has spent a great deal of time cleaning up threads because people can't follow basic instructions, hopefully you can forgive him.

No. It's just locked since nobody could be bothered to follow basic directions. We were taking shifts clearing out 30+ posts a day and instead of people taking the hint, they instead decided it'd make more sense and be even more topical to start whining that they were being treated mean.

Seems like an odd approach to me since there were like three other threads that mods barely touch (as a matter of policy mind you since we do like to be laid back and light touch in general) just for the purposes they insisted that the easy access news thread was supposed to be for. (Don't remember when the news thread was retitled idle thoughts thread... Secret ballot?)

I mean, someone thinking that Sackboy should be a guest character is cool and all and imaginary announcements that nobody who mattered ever said were coming then the resulting wailing when none of that (shock) came true are laudable discussion points in the news thread that was put there so people wouldn't have to wade through idle wishes and rampant baseless speculation to get to the actual news.

I wonder if the direction of the news thread should be more of a privileged locked sticky then. Limit those who can update it and the content they post to very minimal, but informative posts.

For example: “SCVI playable at PAX!” followed by brief bits of info regarding time, date, potentially what build etc.

This could spawn threads within the forum (probably not automatically, but by those interested in the events/updates themselves) which would be further discussions of those topics.

Issues:
Who would be able to update the thread?
It’s a huge responsibility for those privileged posters to be the mouthpiece for SCVI global news.
It would cause those contributors to do extra work to stay on top of the news.

Thoughts?

Imma just say, I respect the mods for trying, but it didn't really work. To me the news thread looked pretty much the same as the old SCVI Discussion, just with more mod warnings. I'm not saying anything bad against mods and admins, in fact I think it's good that they gave a shit and tried, but I just don't think 8WR will ever have a coherent and well managed structure, unless we'll have mod approvals for every post or something (which I DON'T think is a good idea, I'd be fine with 8WR staying the same).
