SCV Ivy Video Thread

Am I the only one who thinks that when Ivy asks you if you're a god, you tell her 'yes'?

...

(Ghostbusters reference, her 2P reminds me of Zuul with the white bubbles around the skin-tight outfit...)

Anyways I think both of her costumes are awesome. Loved the Cervantes vs Ivy match, wish there was a 3rd match since they were 1-1.

Ivy's 2P is just as hideous in motion as it is on paper. Also, does Ivy have her former WS 6bA+B ( think that's the input) or her Coil 236 BB? I don't think I've seen those in any of the videos I've seen thus far, but then again I probably haven't seen all of the videos.

I wonder if they still haven't fixed the whiffing on the third hit of A+B, A because they aren't sure of what move properties they want. For example, do they want it to be a crumple stun that will give a guaranteed combo into B+K? Would that be too overpowered b/c then you could follow up with 6B8 BE

Rezildur, I'm thinking they broke that move on purpose so that she won't have any strong normal hit launcher/whiff punisher. There's no way they don't know about this glitch. I still hope that they will decide to fix it.

6B8 would not connect after B+K on stunned opponent. It only works on neutral/grounded ;) on stunned characters B+K doesn't launch high enough.

22B, 5 hit is a decent normal hit whiff punisher.

still most characters can do easier combos and do a lot more damage with faster whiff punishers.

I agree it's quite decent but unless they make the JF easier than in previos installments it's not gonna work very well on high level play.

Look at SC4, even after 3 years people still miss the JF most of the time in tournaments fights. There's also TV lag issue that differs depending on a TV model.

Idk ring now that there aren't any directions (5Hit JF) in addition to the buttons I think will be a bit easier. For some reason I mess up the last hit all the time and I think it because I input diagonal accidently at times and I don't think I'm the only person that happens to. Damn I was hoping 3b would combo to bK on NH.

Hey now, I tried it twice in the third game! It's not my fault he was good at protecting his balls!

hey did you get a feel for what the CS buffering window is like? I didn't really spend any time testing it (had trouble executing and decided to test other things). I was wondering if its comparable to SC4 CS, or if you can hold part of the motion, etc etc.

I think there's been a misunderstanding. This is what Age_of_Truth wrote:
Btw I had no trouble doing 5-hit JF in London. The input is 22 [ B ] B : B : B : B : B.You just hit B when the whip hits your opponent. I am not by any means an execution expert but I found it much easier than SCIV version, which I could almost never do.

And then Link:
22(B), B:6B:4B:6B:4B

Either Age_of_truth was wrong, or the input was indeed 22(B), B: B: B: B: B which would explain why we couldn't do it in Paris (we tried the standard B:6B... input). However, it appears that the latest version of the game the input is B:6B:4B:6B:4B again and I think Linkrkc can confirm that? (I hope :) )

It felt slightly more free than SC4 as far as buffering it during moves, but since SC4 was still the last game I played I didn't try to see if it was as lenient as SC2/3. When completed, you can take at least one full step before throwing it out. Forward step is obviously easier due to the motion ending in 6, but sidestep is possible as well.

I did it the traditional way. I actually thought I got the second JF hit from neutral once, but I spent the next few matches trying to replicate it and was unable to.

Namco finally uploaded something, not very interesting, though... not sure why they picked these matches.

Keev vs Ring

One thing caught my attention - at 01:45 it appears that Ivy's 22B BE relaunched the opponent off the ground! I didn't notice that during the recording.

That could be amazing if it really works, and maybe WS A+B could conect after 22B BE?

Look at 0:40, they killed the old WP 3A (now 3[A] I think) hit-box, it seems that the move don´t tracks anymore to both sides... is so slow now, no stun on CH and still unsafe...

Other characters like Tira have just insane step-killers, I don´t know the input, I think is 22A, is amazing, catch both sides, is an horizontal mid, good range, unshackeable stun on NH that conects with 6A BE or CE (toons of damage), and don´t seems unsafe, just stupid.
