SCV- New CHARACTER ideas

Voldo looks nuts! Venetian carnival look?

Imho they try to bring the Night&Day SC3 2p(best Voldo design ever) concept to a 4 seasons theme
I don't know,i wait to see it better, but as now i prefer 1p (wich is probably the best 1p Voldo ever got)

Agreed mate,
Compared to SC4, in this most recent iteration of the series, we've seen a (merciful) return to the less ridiculous costume/character design last seen in SC 2/3. The unfortunate exception is Natsu I'm afraid, who's ninja-barbie look is totally out of sync with the awesome new look seen in the rest of the cast and which is why she was met with a generally WTF? reaction by the fans (on the whole).
Pat, Py, Leixia and Xiba are great new design additions, and definitely fit within the spirit and vibe of the SC universe. Natsu, on the other hand, looks like she was designed by a 12 year old girl who accessed SC3 CAS and went nuts. It'd be understandable if the majority of the cast were similarly neon, gaudy and childish, but they're not - so Natsu sticks out like a (glittery) sore thumb......

Well i'm happy someone at least sees what I mean. Usually people will bitch at me when I mention I don't like when Soul Calibur totally anime up their characters. SCIII's outfit designs were all terrible, in fact, some of my favorites were worn by Ivy, Talim, Raphael, Amy, Tira, Setsuka, and many others. SC2's outfit designs looked more fantasy then anime and that's what I liked, the fantasy aspect but not the anime aspect all that much.

I really am trying to like Natsu and I'm going till I play the game to pass final judgement but right now, I'm just not digging her look. I saw her 2P look and I don't really like it that much either. She is like the Yun-Seong of Hwang in a way as being a bad replacement (though I like Yun) for in this case, Taki. I think the other outfit I wasn't really liking so much was Ivy's 2P look. I mean, it looks great from the top but I dislike how they added those stupid fur-like spirals on the bottom part of her jumpsuit on her legs, it just looks gaudy in my opinion. Same with Tira's 2P outfit. Loved it from the top but I don't like how they added anime wings on her cool platform-like boots (I'm hoping they'll let you be able to take them off in CAS because those are some kick ass boots in my opinion lol).

But I do agree with you on the others. Pat, Py, Leixia, and Xiba look like they fit right into Soul Calibur. Zwei kind of does, but his 2P outfit looks bad ass and just makes me like him more haha.

I actually did like Voldo's P1 outfit in SC3 lol. But his 2P was one of his best and I'm also digging his tarantula outfit of SCV and it's funny cause I don't like spiders.

Same here mate - I really want to like Natsu (how can they get something as cool as a ninja so wrong??) but she's just so amateurish, and well below the design quality I expect to see from the SC team. It's especially grating because the last game's new female (Hilde) is such a strong, solid design - very grounded but still cool. If you compare the two, it's quite shocking! You wouldn't design a knight in bright pink armour with glittery flourishes, so why the hell saddle a ninja with such silliness??
The 2p outfits for those ladies are silly, but luckily their 1ps are very strong so it's not such a problem for me, I guess. I definitely agree with you about Ivy's Mrs Claus look....
Hopefully Zwei will surprise me with his full story, which would ideally reveal some of the glaring chunks of back-story. The 2p is promising, but I do think he still belongs in a diferent series altogether....

Taki had on a vibrant red/purple outfit but some how that is still ninja like.

It certainly is - but I think that's because of Taki's overall better styling, less goofiness, less glitter, more badass accessories (demon-face shoulder guards etc), full body-glove, as opposed to cycling shorts and her overall deadly/femme fatale vibe. Oh and she (mostly) looks Japanese, unlike Natsu who looks like she beamed in from L.A circa 1995.

Taki only had on leg and arm guards with a little strap around her chest that couldn't contain her titties. Other than that she might as well have been naked.

Natsu has arm guards with a demonic face, shoulder and waist guards that resemble old japanese roofs tops, some leather or other material over her body suit, some bamboo leg guards and she has feathers in her hair and on the back of her heels(my guess is they are phoenix feathers).

EDIT: Also a string tied around her thigh.

Must be a difference in taste, but I still think Natsu looks way more ludicrously un-ninja like than Taki (and that's saying something). Natsu may have more detail on her costume as you mentioned, but she still looks far tackier than..........Taki.

No I think it just boils down to color. If Natsu's hair was black and her outfit dark blue everyone would be like OMFG SHE IS THE GREATEST NINJA EVER!!!!

You could well be right there mate....It'd certainly help my appreciation of her, I guess colour edit is the only option!

lol, Taki's blue outfit in SC3 was the closest anyone in the serie's has been to "dark colored ninja" (even though we all know Taki's signature color is red), so no surprise here

You know I just noticed that was the color scheme in the comparison photo. I was always gonna go for the dark blue or dark green look for her color edit. The orange doesnt look that bad in person though.

Red really looks like her color though, as well as pink and purple, so I might end up recoloring her to some gold and burgundy color scheme.
