Oh ok still reminds me of what ever color that SCIV Taki outfit is. I do like the bottom right cornor for her with black lining and silver or white armor pieces.

Surely a colour may help but still she lack the attitude, Taki is a blade,Natsu is a strawberry candy
Funny that one of the color edit i made is Natsu with almost black hairs and gray-dark blue outfit... and still she don't have that badass aura that Taki got

Natsu doesn't act anything like Yun or Xiba. Where you get this strawberry shit idk. She talks down to people and has a very killer move set. I haven't seen her jumping all over the place all smiling and cheerful or saying she is starving. Every movement has the precision of a killer.

It's kind of like Naruto. I mean, I used to like it for a slight while way back when but I just thought Naruto had to be the dumbest concept of a ninja in my opinion because in my mind, ninjas are supposed to be stealthy and not stand out but his freakin' orange jumpsuit made him standout like a sore thumb. Then again, maybe things changed in the show where the characters are older, I don't know because I lost interest in the show along time ago. And that's a good analogy with the "dressing a knight in pink armor". You'd probably see that in an anime though. lol
And I think the only reason some of the female 2P outfits are silly (at least for Tira and Ivy somewhat) is because of that guest artist who designed them and she was the one who did the designs for the game Bayonetta. And I noticed the influence on Ivy's jumpsuit because it sort of reminded me of Bayonetta's character Jeannie with just a few differences. But I do like Tira's, just not the wings on boot thing haha but other then that, a pretty good design.

There's always a right and wrong way to design a clothing concept for a character. While hers is questionable, I've seen worse... *shudder*

No he said a dumb funny version of Taki. Natsu is neither of those. Also her design is very elaborate while Taki's can be likened to Maxi 2p in most of the series. Not much thought at all.

Well I guess it's just left to one's own interpretation.
In my opinion, her design is just questionable (I mean, it could've been a lot worse). I thinnk her personality differs from that of Yun, she's serious and all that jazz. But just to ask, what do you find so elaborative of her design?
And I actually think Taki's designs were quite good. Sure, they weren't overly accessorized but I'm glad they made her design simple. It worked for her.

Taki was like a power ranger mainly one solid color but less designs on her.
With Natsu you can see that the want her to stand out. Look at the color they chose. Naruto or not if she was gonna replace someone who is a veteran she needed to be visually appealing. Everything looks tight. Very battle ready IMO.

Taki did help make bodysuits more popular though haha. And I don't fully agree, maybe in her older designs but they got better sort of. Characters don't have to be overly accessorized to be good designs. I learned in art school that when it comes to character design, the worst thing someone can do is over accessorize a character because it makes them look tacky and I definitely agree with that. Taki's designs were just plain and simple. Not all that flashy or attention grabbing (minus her obvious sell point of her draped moving boobs).
And just for the record, there are a few things I like on Natsu's design. Like her shorts and top, they look simple but effective and the tasset like waist garment looks pretty cool as well as the slight armor accessories.. And like I said in my first comment, the only thing that put me off was her very blonde hair, it just looked a bit much but luckily, her personality is pretty cool for a young fresh addition and I'm already liking her moveset. Even though I don't like her color scheme, that's nothing that CAS edit can't fix.
